This was absolutely the worst experience I’ve had at any restaurant ever. I’ve been eating here since it was poblano’s and you need to change it all the way back. There’s a reason it was absolutely dead on a Friday night. The service was terrible from the beginning. The waitress came over asked my friend and I what we wanted to drink and we just asked for water to start and she seemed confused, she left presumably to get our waters and came back about 3 minutes later to verify that we in fact did want water and then took my friends menu (we hadn’t ordered anything yet) she reached for mine but I kept my hand on it because, what are you doing, girl? She comes back with the water and goes to take my menu again and I have to ask if we can put in our food order, again she sounds confused but takes our order. I ordered the Fajita nachos which I had ordered before when this place was Vida, they came out with avocado on top, which I hadn’t seen before. I started eating anyway and tasted pineapple. I looked the menu up online because I knew I wouldn’t order nachos with pineapple on them. It took several minutes to finally get someone’s attention and our waitress came over and I told her the issue, said I ordered the fajita nachos and this is incorrect. She asked me what was wrong and I told her there’s pineapple and avocado. She giggled and asked if I didn’t want that. I told her no, I want what I ordered. Again this girl is confused I asked her to take the nachos and please just bring me a cheese quesadilla. She laughed AGAIN and I had to flag down a different server to make sure everything was taken care of properly, I tried to put in an order for the correct nachos but I don’t think he understood. When my friend got her bill they brought her the wrong one and she told them he told her to “be smart next time” because what she had on the incorrect bill was cheaper but she was just trying to be honest. I left hungry, they never brought more chips or refilled the water. I ended up going to McDonald’s after to get dinner. They gave us each a $5 off coupon on our next visit but I can’t see us ever returning. La Fiesta has our hearts now.
Update: My same friend and I returned to Una Mas to use our $5 off coupon and have lunch. She convinced me to give them another shot. The service was good, but the host was the one serving majority of the restaurant. God knows where the actual servers were. My food was good so I’ll give them that. However, the manager was rude af. We had our coupon from our last experience and they refused to honor it bc the manager didn’t sign it and he wasn’t there. She tried blaming the last bad experience on short staffing but last time the restaurant was empty and there were employees EVERYWHERE. zero accountability and not even trying to take care of the customer. The 5 star reviews on this place must be bots bc there’s never anyone in there bc it all quite...
Read moreFood and drinks were lack-luster, at best. A vast difference from when I ate here in the past. I learned that this place is now under new management, and in partnership with the High Point restaurant (also called Una Mas Modern Mexican Margaritas). Pay attention to your meal ticket when they bring it to you after you finish eating. They charge you a certain percentage for gratuity automatically, no matter the size of your party without proper notice (not listed/advertised on their menu) and our waitress tried to take my debit card without letting me see our meal ticket. My wife and I let the automatic gratuity thing slide, until I received a notification from my bank after the change was completely processed to let me know that the business had charged me more than the agreed upon payment amount. This obviously generated an automatic fraud dispute between them and my financial institution. It’s good to know that my bank was paying attention. Be careful when you eat here, and pay attention to everything that they do. It is starting to seem like this business and the other location is more concerned about adding additional charges and service fees to your meal ticket without you knowing, over providing adequate customer service. This wouldn’t be an issue if proper prior notice is given to the consumer and the customer service and food were better to support the fee model of the business. Very disappointed, and a...
Read moreMy sister and I came here today. The veggie enchiladas were good however, the beef nachos weren’t very good. My sister said needed more seasoning for the beef. The service needs major work. The manager was more concerned with his phone than taking care of his customers. The first server we had, gave us soda and they knew the guy was there changing out the sodas. So why not make sure the sodas were good? The Sprite tasted like club soda and our second server was the one that informed us they were changing things out. The first server didn’t understand what I was trying to tell him and finally the manager translated after he put his phone down. We got a second server because the first one did a horrendous job checking back on us. When the food came out whoever this guy was, was so quick to put it on the table and never asked if anything was needed. Just walked away. It’s really the service that lacks here. Once when I got on my phone to do this review did the first server start coming back to check on us. I asked to speak with the manager before we cashed out but he went on break during thee lunch hour rush. Poor customer service and management. If the service and management don’t change how they handle their customers, this place...
