UPDATE: I went back with the family, there were 9 of us. We did call ahead to get a table ready, so by the time we got there, the table was ready. HOWEVER, when we sat down, we waited 30 minutes, and no one came to our table to even take our drink order. Several people came by, stopped by our table, looked, and then walked away. After waiting 30 minutes, we did end up just walking out and leaving.
Today, I stopped by Megumi during their soft opening for lunch, and I have to say, they’re off to a great start. The atmosphere is inviting, with a modern, clean design and a sushi bar where you can watch the chefs prepare fresh sushi right in front of you. It definitely adds to the experience and makes the place feel authentic and lively.
For appetizers, I ordered the Calamari and Edamame. The calamari was a pleasant surprise—clearly fresh, not frozen calamari strips, which made a big difference in texture and taste. The Edamame was the standard style but still satisfying.
I also tried the Tuna Tataki, which consisted of fresh, raw tuna slices. It had a nice kick to it—spicy enough to be exciting without overwhelming the natural flavor of the tuna. Personally, I enjoyed the heat, but be prepared if you're not a fan of spice.
For the main course, I went with the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp. It was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy steak paired with succulent shrimp, served with classic hibachi sides. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on.
Since it was their soft opening, a few items I originally ordered weren't quite ready yet, but that's completely understandable. It just gives me a reason to go back and explore more of their menu when they're fully up and running.
All in all, Megumi shows a lot of promise. The food quality is impressive, especially for a brand-new spot. I’m looking forward to returning soon to see how they continue to develop and to try the items I missed this time around. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving some good sushi...

The soft seating invites you to relax and settle in, while the decor is simply beautiful, with fun touches like creatively displayed beer bottles that add a unique charm.
But it's not just the ambiance that shines; the staff here are exceptional. They're not only friendly but also remarkably attentive, ensuring that your every need is met with a smile. And let's talk about the food—it's nothing short of fantastic and utterly delicious. I highly recommend trying the habachi and sushi; the taste is exquisite, and the presentation is a work of art in itself.

Read moreThis place is great! We ordered the fruit teas, sushi, edamame, and noodle bowls.
The drinks were good and not overly sweet. We got orange-pineapple and the Strawberry-lime. Almost $8 is a little pricey though. Fountain drinks are $3.
Edamame was served promptly, seasoned, hot, and fresh. One of my favorite snacks. Did not disappoint.
The noodle bowls were exellent. We got the Shrimp tempura udon and the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. Full of flavor. The noodles were of excellent quality.
The sushi was delightful. We got the Masamoto roll and the Broadway roll for sushi. They came out a little after our noodles, but the quality was amazing as was the presentation. My only gripe was that the sushi came out slightly after the noodles, but sushi is just as much art as deliciousness. Order accordingly.
I loved this place. Fresh everything and crafted well. The server was good and polite. On a side note, the bathroom was spectacular. Smelled great and very clean. I...
