I used to shop at Sav a Lot until I stopped Aldi in Bradenton FL that was right on my drive home from Longboat Key and once I did, there was no going back. Best cheese prices and variety of choices including shredded, slices, bricks, etc. Their dairy prices in general are excellent, especially their milk. I usually don't pay more than $1.49 per gallon. Breads are great and inexpensive too. As another person mentioned, the meat section is small but the quality is great along with the prices. Produce is always fresh an inexpensive too. You'll spend a lot less on your staples but you'll also find many gourmet items that they offer that are excellent. Great store for those with lots of mouths to feed on a tight budget but also those who simply don't want to pay the higher...
Read moreEdit#2: The cigarette smoke send to no longer be an issue. The reformatted store is clean, it seems to be well stocked. Prices have definitely risen with inflation. I have specific things we go to buy, and we tend to fulfill most of our grocery list when the menu takes us there. 3/5 for overturning management and increasing basic service.
Edit#1: I am sad to change my original review. This store REEKS of cigarette smoke. I understand that they're smoking outside.... But they leave the doors open, and it blows it all into the store. 1/5 I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. The store manager to me to mind my own, as she's the smoker in question.
