Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because Dad’s got a gas-tastic review for ya! We're talking about the QuikTrip over on West Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville, South Carolina. And let me tell you, this place is a fill-good establishment! First things first, the fuel situation. They've got more pumps than a gym on New Year's Day, so you're never left pumping your fist in frustration waiting for a spot. My car practically let out a sigh of relief when I pulled up – it’s a real gas to get in and out so quickly. And the prices? They’re so good, I almost tank-ed them for it! Now, inside is where the real magic happens, folks. The coffee is so fresh, it’ll make you perk up faster than a squirrel with a triple espresso. And the roller grill? Oh boy, those hot dogs are so good, they'll make you frank-ly ecstatic! I swear, they're the wiener of all convenience store grub. I grabbed a couple, and my taste buds were doing the salsa dance. And the restrooms? Spotless! You could practically eat off the floors – though I wouldn't recommend it, that's just a crappy idea. But seriously, it’s a relief to find a place that doesn’t make you want to hold it till you get home. The staff? They’re always smiling, always helpful, and they make sure your experience is nothing short of super-convenient. They’re so efficient, they practically fuel your day with good vibes! Honestly, this QuikTrip is an absolute gem-erator of good times. It’s not just a gas station; it's a destination. So next time you're in Greenville and your tank is running on fumes, or your stomach is rumbling louder than a hungry bear, haul yourself over to the QuikTrip on West Wade Hampton. You won't regret it, and that's no joke!
Just be forewarned that first speed bump is something that's hard to get over; it's...
Read moreSecond time we have been here. Atmosphere and beers are great. It's a good place to bring kids and relax outside in an enclosed area.
The food though, it's not great. I ordered the chicken sandwich. It was a very thinly cut breast that had been fried. The breast was not brined nor marinaded, it was super plain. And the breading was lacking salt. It was like eating an unseasoned chip with some plain meet on the inside. There were other toppings on the sandwich that helped add flavor, but I could not get over the plain chicken.
My kid had the chicken tenders... They were not tenders. They were the same thinly sliced, unseasoned breasts that came on my sandwich. My kid loves fried chicken from other places (Rocky's, Chick-fil-A, etc), but he refused to eat these after 1 bite. I don't blame him. They were not good.
To the service: nothing was wrong with it, everyone was friendly and pleasant, but why are you asking for a 25% default tip for food service, when I have to get my own food, beers AND cleanup myself? Makes no sense. I will tip 20% on alcohol, but if I am getting up to order, get my food AND clean it up, you aren't getting a tip on food.
The place is super expensive as well. $14 for a bland chicken sandwich, and $9 for bland chicken tenders. Someone is making some...
Read moreTotally found the absolute cutest place to hangout and grab a bite to eat.. the only issue I had was the food on its own was mid at best. The menu has a wiiiiiiiiiiide range and something I learned along time ago, some menus need to be narrowed down to execute any of the items well.
Salads - Fried Pickles - Gochujang Wings - Truffle Fries - a double stacked Smash Burger - Birria French Dip with Cilantro, Pickled Onion, Chihuahua Cheese - Pastrami Reuben with Marble Rye, Sauerkraut, Carmalized Onions, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, House Sauce - Mahi Mahi Sandwich with Creamy Cabbage Slaw, Spicy Remoulade, Tomato - Pork Schnitzel Sandwich with Red Cabbage, Pickled Onions, Whole Grain Mustard Aioli, Pretzel Roll.
I mean, seriously.. That's not even the whole menu and you already have me drooling over all the keywords my brain goes crazy for. I ordered the Birria French dip and the Gochujang wings thinking I was going to get a world tour of fantastic flavors for lunch but instead felt like I was eating at a school cafeteria. If you want Gochujang wings just find a Korean restaurant, if you want Birria just head to a taco shop, I think you get the point. I wanted to love this place so freaing much and I actually love the PLACE but the food left me feeling pretty...
