I am from New Jersey and nowhere remotely close to home. I work construction, specifically for supermarkets. this place is in between two jobs that I’ve had going on for more than two months. I’m kicking myself in the butt because for nine weeks I’ve been driving by this place without stopping by..
Finally, today I stopped by, And it was worth every second, and every penny. The family that owns the place is phenomenal very accommodating, very polite and overly nice. Not being a guy that likes a lot of toppings on his burgers I ordered the double cheesy burger – – two burger patties with cheese. It’s basically a plain cheeseburger.. Absolutely phenomenal, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and it disappeared quickly.
Knowing I wasn’t gonna finish at all, I also ordered onion rings and fries, and then decided to try their chicken fingers, which I ordered with buffalo sauce, because I saw them making the actual chicken finger. It wasn’t frozen garbage that you see at the other fast food places it was real white breast, meat, breaded, and fried—and good lord was it amazing.
Everything was just right. Soda and some iced teas and a hibiscus lemonade were one price and free refills. The burgers and fingers were all attractively pricing—I don’t think anything was over $9.99.
The chicken fingers for 4 of them was $7.99, and worth double that with the real food and the way it was made.
If you find yourself anywhere within 20-30 minutes of this place—get here and try it out. Amazing food, super nice family running it, and the only thing I was was that it was closer to my house. 3 hours away is a bit much of a commute for a meal—but I will be here every week until the jons are finished!!! Sorry I...
Read moreI missed the soft opening, so I thought they would’ve had a chance to work out all the kinks of a new opening. The inside was updated from our beloved Andy’s Pizza, and the employees were personable and professional when answering my questions. That is where the 3 stars come in. Our family of 4 had different meals in order to try a variety, along w/ 2 shakes. The fries were good, but would’ve been better if they did not forget one order in my bag… The cheeseburger, veggie burger, and chicken fingers were okay, but definitely not even close to great, and my husband ordered the cheesesteak, and that was so-so. The milkshakes made me crave the Wawa black&white. I’m still chalking it up to the location working out the tweaks and I’ll give it another try in the future. It’s the same deal with the pizza place up the street which is an option when delivery is required. I can’t waste one dollar more in Tamburelli’s, which went downhill and fell off a cliff since 2017. Dealing w/ the lesser of evils down here...
Read moreIt’s a 6 hour drive to Norfolk Beach from where I live in PA.
Been on the road for 2 and I got a bit hungry and needed to stretch my legs. Spotted a way a Wayback burger and a liquor store next to it, figured I’d grab some lunch and peruse the liquor selection (mixology is a hobby and I’m always looking for different things).
2 guys working the Wayback; a white dude and an Indian guy. Both professional, prompt, and efficient. Good service. Place is clean, well kept, and maintained.
I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, burger was great, and the onion rings were actually decent (once you’ve had good onion rings, you know what I mean).
I asked for light mayo and they actually did light mayo. Grease was as minimal as it could’ve been. It was perfect.
Double checked if I wanted ketchup packets for my rings when I took them to go.
Bonus - found a bottle of a new gin from the liquor store I’ll be trying, and a bottle of a favorite...
