Spencer's Dairy Kream — Restaurant in Grenada

As having lived in Grenada my whole life, Spencer’s has been a staple for me. Great food, great ice cream (and all the selections, oh my!), and for the most part good service. It’s always nice to go in there and the old style, open diner layout allows for occasionally seeing people you know and can visit while eating or just stopping in for a cone. What prevents me from going for a full five stars is the service. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, and most of the girls are friendly, but of late the friendliness I’ve come to be used to all my life has sort of waned. Not only that but the occasional lack of service. Now, I do understand that workers have things to take care of that the customers don’t realize sometimes, but when there’s upwards of two dozen employees behind the counter area, in such a small restaurant you can’t tell me ALL of them have a current, extremely compelling task that does not allow them to help the people that are really keeping a paycheck going to them: the customers. If you aren’t from Grenada, don’t be discouraged by the above from going. I write it in the hopes that the owners will see and try to implement change. Quality ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Customer Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cost ⭐⭐ Cleanliness ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spencer's has been one of my family's traditions for, at least, 3 generations. I can still see Mr. Spencer ever so gently putting the ice cream around in the cup. Memories were made here that'll last a lifetime. My Mama, Marie "Reese" Lacy, believed ice cream made everything better, whether it was a cold, chickenpox, surgery, life's free throws, or a heartbreak. Spencer's Orange Cooler has, on many occasions, nursed me and mine, plus our friends back from the brink and I APPRECIATE YOU, Spencer's Dairy Cream of Grenada! Outside seating, dine in, playground, photo props, walk up windows, soft serve ice cream (large selection), shakes, coolers, banana splits, sundaes, parfait, burgers, chicken phillys, hot dogs, chili dogs, onion rings, fried pickles, funnel cake fries,...

I hate to complain but I'm not sure what is going on with Spencer's lately. Spencer's hasn't been good in a while. Service is slow even if it's not busy. Tonight we ordered some food and the wait time was ridiculous and the food was subpar. I wish we had just left when they didn't bother to ask what we needed... None of the food was good. I got the BBQ nachos with everything. Well it came with only meat, cheese, and chips. There was no lettuce, tomato, or sour cream. They didn't even put the BBQ sauce on it and it's supposed to be BBQ nachos.... To top it off the chips were stale. It tasted like it was old and they just reheated it in the microwave. My daughter said the burger didn't taste right and my husband said his food didn't taste right either. I probably will not be...
