Oh my god, I’m going to vomit. Actually I did puke back up in my napkin. Where do I begin? Yes we were seated fast and that’s nice. Waitress was nice except she never CAME BY?? Had to go up to bar to ask for refills on water!! (There were 4 of us). We got 3 chicken pasta and 1 steak. No complaints about the steak, but OH MY GOD THE PASTA🤢🤢 we found not 1, but 2 hairs in 2 separate pasta dishes. The chicken in all of us literally crunched in our mouths. Everyone’s pasta was like-warm at best. One of my guests also requested to have extra spices on hers and another requested no parm so they didn’t actually care for her request of spices and the other for no parm as they put no parm on anyone’s. I spit the black hair and pasta into my napkin that had to go scrap my tongue in the bathroom. After we had to go to the bar to get water refills, our waitress could care less for us. We had to call her over cause my fork had crap all over it. She could not care less about us. We still tipped damn $30 for shitty service and TERRIBLE FOOD. First time in tonight. I live in Portland, OR. Visiting family here. Have to say ... CARMEN IS THE BEST! Excellent mixologist! helped us choose the perfect cocktail for our meal. Actually gave honest customer feedback on a couple that saved us from disappointment. Excellent service! My fav line, Carmen: "I'll fill your tea, please pass me your glass." BIL: "No, I'm good." Carmen: "I'll come by in a moment, you'll be empty, and I'll not be your friend any longer." Absolute hospitality. FOOD: Amazing. I would put Kennel Club up against any restaurant of its type in Portland. ATMOSPHERE: Carefully planned. Cool Vibe. Loved the actual bar! Perfect music volume. OVERALL: Definitely wish I could visit again...

The Kennel Club was recommended by a co-worker. I don't think I ever would have found the place without them. I get down to Mississippi a couple times a year for work, and Tuesday through Thrusday, I'm going to eat the The Kennel Club every night.
I've tried a number of things on the menu. Here are my favorite things:
Apps: Fried Green Tomatoes Chargrilled Oysters
Main course: Crab Stuffed Filet Mignon Shrimp and Grits (this is favorite of mine wherever I go, and the best I've had)
Dessert: Brown Butter Cake (There are nights I'll go in and just eat this. It's a must have!!!)
