The food is delicious, the service impeccable, the ambiance quirky and comforting. And I do recommend this restaurant. However, my major complaint is the food is overpriced, which I am OK with. Paid $75 for 5 shrimp with grits, pasta with crab claws and a creme brulee dessert. What I find appalling is that with the price for the food they have the unmitigated gall to charge a 3% fee to pay with a credit card. So, I paid the $1.92 to use a credit card. Seems petty given the menu prices. When you see the credit card fee, its disturbing given the prices already charged for the food. I used a 5% cash back card on purpose to combat their fee, but still think it is cheap to charge customers to pay with a credit card. They have quality food and I know they have to pay employees and raw products, but the profit margin can't be that thin that they need another $2 on a $75 meal of grits and pasta. I understand businesses get a charge from the credit card company, but that is deductible and considered the cost of doing business/cost of goods sold. However, I will be back, either with cash or my cash back card.
UPDATE 09/09/2025 I haven’t been going here much because I limit visiting places that greedily charge customers a fee to use a credit card. I use to go several times a month, but haven’t been in 5 months. For the first time I ordered takeout for my daughter. To my horror, this place charges a 10% takeout fee. I originally was also going to order a crème brûlée with the order, but was told there was a $5 fee for the glass dish it comes in. Oh come on with the fees, really. (I can understand the glass dish fee though, but on top of all the other fees it’s just ridiculous with this place). It’s like they are ticket master with all the fees. First, a credit card fee now a takeout fee. A $27 pasta dish, that is delicious but wildly overpriced, but my daughter wanted it, is now 10% more. This place is ridiculous with the fees added onto their very overpriced menu. In my older review I said I would be back. NOW, I will not be back and I told my daughter to forget about ever asking me to go here. The 10% charge for takeout is outrageous! I will NEVER be back because the fee for takeout just put me over the top with the...
Read moreFood was great but service was “not so great ”. The server we began with was not the one we ended with. Not sure why they switched my sever out halfway during my experience without me knowing & had her waiting on other tables (& we came right when they opened so it wasn’t super busy or anything). My family was only tended to once throughout the entire experience (and this was only when our 1st waiter brought us bottled water to drink). Not once did she come over and ask if the food was okay, if we’re doing okay or needed anything. The second male waiter brought out our dessert then the check without introducing himself or anything. Lastly , while leaving out, the male hostess was standing near the door and turned away when we exited. This was very unprofessional ..no “thank you” or “have a nice day”. I’m one who really pays attention to how I’m treated at restaurants from the time I enter to the time I leave. Overall, I wouldn’t say this was a very “bad” experience but it wasn’t very welcoming. Now, to the food: I had the roti as an appetizer , I ordered the Hawaii 504 shrimp for myself, my son ordered the lobster and grits & my daughter got the dumplings and fried rice with a fried egg on the side. Also had the fried cheesecake for dessert in celebration of my son’s birthday. Everything was tasty …except the cold fried egg they served on the side. My total was around $80 and with tip, about $92. Due to the unprofessional service, Banana Blossom will not be one of my “go to” Thai restaurant like I would have hoped. I will stick to other Thai places I’ve been to with...
Read moreEverything about this place is amazing! Walked in with a cake and they immediately offered to put it in the fridge. Every person I encountered while there was super sweet and super helpful, the staff was immaculate. The roti was soft and warm with a great flavor, the sauce that comes with it was perfectly made. We ordered the pork belly ramen, fried dumplings, and the fried oysters for apps and every single thing was top tier. Hot, fresh, flavorful just everything you want in a meal! I got the short rib pasta and it was literally the best food I think I’ve ever had. Fall off the bone meat, noodles cooked to the perfect texture, flavors were amazing. Presentation was insane too, every meal looked exactly like the menu which by the way was an amazing detail, the menu has pictures of every item. I’ve never seen that, from what I recall, and the visuals really tied everything together.
They came out after we dined eating with the cake and a house dessert that had candles which was so sweet of the staff. The dessert was fried bananas in coconut in a pool of either caramel or honey I can’t remember, which a lavender ice cream. That ice cream was to D I E for! We finished with the Nutella roti and even something so simple like that was amazing. It was soft, creamy and warm.
If you’ve never been this is an AMAZING place to go, easily one of the best restaurants...
