While the crawfish is good sometimes, the customer service is horrible. I’ve been here multiple times. I’ve had some good experiences, but more negative encounters than good. I value customer service because your food can be mediocre, as many places in New Orleans’ food industry can be, but your customer service will keep you in business and will help to set you apart from other places. In addition, it’s not a good look to lie about whether or not you have fresh crawfish coming out. Almost everyone’s preference would be been to wait for fresh crawfish. After asking, I was told they were done boiling crawfish for the day at 2:15 pm, even they close at 7 pm. Of course after I asked this question and paid, the gentleman that boils the crawfish coincidentally asked his coworkers if they were ready for a new batch to be brought out and of course he was silenced right away.
I encourage J&J Seafood to provide a better experience for customers. I personally won’t be back, but I do...
Read moreThis is an authentic place and I am sure everyone loves it. The price is great compared to the tourist areas. My only issue is the shrimp are kept it the warm water they were probably boiled in so they continue to cook and are over cooked for my taste. Good size head on shrimp is a plus. The corn sits in juice as well so mine was a bit mushy. Potato's are great all similar spice, it’s a boil after all. This is a place that seems to sell a lot with good reviews so I may go back on a busier day when it may be fresh out of the pot. I am sure with crawfish this is not an issue as everyone loves them. The crawfish Boudin was awesome. Oh, and if you don’t like spice oh well you get the heat. The heat slows people down so they don’t out eat you. 🤣 It was still better than what I had...
Read moreTruly an excellent experience. The spicy blend mixture balances with the balanced flavor. The person who wrote it's too hot must not get the concept of what craw fish are supposed to be. Plus the heat isn't derived from the "pepper" it's a correlated spice blend. You get heat but not the overwhelming taste of just one element. I have to go visit them at least once a week. Two times at the most, it's just so delicious!!! The turkey necks are to die for! Plus, it has a touch of nostalgia. While your food is prepared I would suggest talking to the staff that's enjoyable too. If your on the Westbank and want CLEAN (this is one of the biggest elements), great tasting seafood, and turkey necks with a kick to get the blood flowing you...
