Below average maid rite website says home made pies, no pies, only parking in early mid afternoon was illegal parking at the bank... if you're handicapped, enjoy the walk. Waiter was friendly, and the brownies were good tbough

Edit: I fixed the correction by my spell check. The waiter apologized about the missing pie... explaining they were a victim of covid... i thought I had seen it on a menu online, im sure of it in fact, and I have double checked. The note I recieved on my windshield left no doubt I shouldn't have parked there. I feel the parking capacity should meet the seating capacity, its not like there are a lot of seats. Its really not a point of contention, Google asked for a review and I described my visit... I drove about 150 miles round trip to visit your shop, and this was how I felt it went Sometimes you as a business get used to standard operating procedure, and have to be reminded how it looks...

I am glad that they were able to save a place that has been in Grinnell for a very long time, but with that being said, they also changed very little. It still looks like the Maid Rite did when I was a kid. Food is almost exactly the same. I am surprised Maid Rite hasn't had something to say about that. Not really criticizing, just feel if your going to change from a Maid Rite and call it your family name you should also make it your own. I have read through many reviews and they seem to like to argue with customers and not take responsibility. To me that's not the way to run a business. For me, it would be easier just to go to a different place than put myself through the hassle for a Maid Rite I can make at home for a fraction...

Ordered a petite chicken salad and when I went to pick it up it was not only a full said but a beef full salad. When I brought it to someone's attention the guy wanted to argue with me about what I had asked for. I KNOW WHAT I ASKED FOR. I literally had two other people that heard me place my order and could verify. Was literally reading my order to him right off the menu. I thought I would give this place a second chance after previously getting a RAW chicken sandwich. Then wanted to argue about getting back the difference in cost. Will never come back here again.
