Los Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Groveton

I read the reviews before coming and thought it must be a nice little hole in the wall restaurant. I wasn’t expecting it to be anything great, but I’m sorry are people getting paid to write these reviews? I wouldn’t even use the word decent.

All the food had absolutely ZERO flavor. The beans, rice and chicken all were so bland. The queso tastes like Velveeta cheese melted down. The salsa tastes like it’s from a can. It is probably the worst food I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration. The only good thing about the experience here is the waiter was nice. If you’re used to actual good Mexican food like Lupe tortilla then do not waste your money...

I realise my review is going against the grain here but the food was extremely bland. I had got the enchiladas and it tasted like there was just no seasoning at all in anything.

The server was great, I loved the atmosphere, just I couldn't make myself eat the food. It really tasted like the ground meat had been cooked and drained with no seasoning at all, and then wrapped in a tortilla and served.

I go to Los Jalaoenos often and I LOVE their Fireman's Special! The staff are, for the most part, very friendly but there is one waitress that tends to be rude and abrasive.
