Vanes Cafe — Restaurant in Guadalupe

Our family (child age 5 , mom, and grandma) wanted something casual and nutritious for breakfast nearby. It’s always a treat to go to Guadalupe so we were happy to see Vanes Cafe pop up first in our Google search. The cafe is “within” another restaurant. I think it’s the breakfast menu that makes it stand alone from the seafood? named establishment.

The service was welcoming, kind and helpful, and the food was brought to us quickly.

We ordered the Mediterranean avocado toast and fresh fruit with a last minute addition of chocolate chip pancakes for a growing boy who’d finished everything else.

We all found the food delicious and filling. The coffee was served in a carafe allowing us to refill as needed.

The price was fair, we had leftovers, and the ambiance was casual + family friendly (we brought in legos to play with).

Very good homemade breakfast. I grew up with these kind of neighborhood places geared towards the working class. A few workers coming through to get a quick bite. It was a one man show. He was packing up a to go order and told us he could also cook my daughter some eggs over easy, just the way she likes it. Our breakfast burritos were very filling. My daughter also got.pancakes and they were yum. The coffee was super good and STRONG, just like I grew up on. If you are looking for fancy " brunch" place, this is not it. I came here for breakfast with my family based on some other positive reviews and I'm so glad I came! Prices are very low - four dollars for almost everything - but the quality is comparable to a restaurant that would charge four times as much. I ordered the french toast and it was nicely fragrant and flavorful, and the bacon side was only supposed to come with two pieces but it came with three instead!
