Mr.J Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Guilford

Recently came here for their happy hour which is offered Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. It is not advertised fully on their website, and I saw it posted on their Facebook page. They offer a variety of drinks at a very reasonable price. These two pictures are martinis that are offered on their happy hour menu for $9 each. The lychee martini was the better of the two. The presentation is pretty, but I still don't understand the reasoning for a sprig of rosemary and a lychee martini. This place was such a pleasant surprise that I brought a friend from work for happy hour one day and colleagues a couple weeks later. My family loves Mr Js! They have something for each of us. My husband and kids love sushi and have never been disappointed with their orders here. I am not a fan of sushi, but do enjoy some of the vegetable rolls.

Additionally, you can find your favorite typical Chinese food offerings as well as Japanese and Thai dishes. We like the udon, the shrimp dumplings, the pineapple shrimp fried rice, and the pineapple shrimp red curry.

Mr. Js is our go-to spot for sushi. It's almost always the place we choose to order from on birthdays or for any celebratory occasion.

The food was not the best I've had, but it was reasonably priced. I would go back to try other options. The General Tsou's came out at a great temperature, but failed to have the spice I was looking for.

The portion size on the general Tsou's was very large and enjoyable for somebody who likes to have a lot and other dishes came out at similar sizes. This means you really could order one meal and eat it again for the next day. This also means that money is walking out of the door for almost every customer.
