Captain Hook's — Restaurant in Gulfport

Food was great............but the service was beyond awful. We had dinner on 7/31/19 at about 7pm. Here are the highlights.... Directions to your restaurant sent us to a residence about 5 mins away. I let the cashier know and she decided to make up some ridiculous excuse about my "current location" when I googled your establishment. Pretty sure she did a drug deal in the bathroom. My son had no sauce w his wings. She walked right past the ringing business phone. Told her I didn't need a lid and straw twice. She gave me the lid and pointed out the straws as if I said nothing. She never offered me a drink. I asked for part of my order to go and part of it for here. She gave it all to me on a tray. She offered half of our party the choice of Cajun fries but...

I can not say enough good things about this Captain Hooks. I come to Gulfport to visit family twice a year and this is an absolute must not miss each time I'm in town. I always get the shrimp poboy, fully dressed. The shrimp is perfectly fried and the bread is so nice and crusty on the outside but deliciously soft inside. The gumbo is probably the best I have ever tasted. In fact, I buy it cold so I can take it home put it in the freezer. The food is not the only reason I never fail to stop by. The folks who run the place are so nice and treat everyone with such courtesy. I highly recommend...

Best fried rice in town. Not as greasy, good presentation. They would get a lot more business from me if they would answer the phone. Calling in an order here is a nightmare. I've had them pick up, put me on hold, then hang up 15 minutes later. Sometimes they don't answer at all. I've driven right by to go elsewhere for this reason. I do fried rice and chicken on Fridays. I've only got it from here 2 times in 2020. Do the math on how much business was lost from JUST me by not having better phone etiquette. ...
