Taste of China — Restaurant in Guymon

Nov 15. 2014. The negative reviews for this restaurant aren't fair. I'm a truck driver who has all but given up on finding good Chinese buffets in any small town, but this one was within walking distance of where I parked for the night. I won't claim that Taste of China is one of the best Chinese buffets that I've eaten at (deserving 4 stars, but receiving 5 from me, to offset the unfair 1 star reviews), but it is on par with a good Chinese buffet that you're likely to find in any large city. Good food, great service (Juan is amazing to watch, especially on a busy Saturday night.) If I find myself parked in Guymon, OK again, I will gladly eat at Taste of China. If you ask for rice, they will bring you a bowl of fresh steaming rice from the kitchen in just a couple of minutes, instead of leaving it out to dry on the buffet line (Okies in the boonies don't...

Taste of China? More like a taste of inhospitable stuck up Mexican witches who hate everything and refuse to talk to you. And don't bother asking the manager or owner anything because he refuses to speak to you also. You literally have to eat the crumbs and scrape the rust off the pan before they will bring any fresh food out. Spend your money here? Shame on you. I will never support foreign-owned businesses like this. This whole place from Dodge City to Tucumcari sucks. Don't stop anywhere thru this area. just keep driving. This area used to be rich in folk lore and history. Now it's just run down and everybody has poop in their corn flakes. Came hoping to enjoy some delicious Chinese cuisine, but instead left sorely disappointed. The wonton chips were the worst I've ever had, no taste to them. I've had much better egg drop soup elsewhere, and my Seafood Delight was missing the scallops and had only one water chestnut. :( (I love both of those things)! My server wasn't very attentive; luckily for him, I'm not high maintenance when dining out. None of the staff really seemed too attentive to the customers, to be honest.
