My dear retired school principal father passed away and even though I knew of the five college valley business districts, I was coming up empty handed for a reception space that was available. I started to "work the phones", for a long time, to find a reception space. Thank goodness for the call to Mi Tierra staff. They expressed their sympathy and helped us get organized for a reception in their private function room. The food was great ( MMmmm roasted squash and cauliflower quesadillas, as well as chicken pepper and cheese, and all the sides we asked for including roasted corn, Guac, pico de gallo, rice and beans, AND option to have our own music in memory of dad). This restaurant welcomed us, took care of us, called/ Texted us back promptly when we had questions. They fed us a customized and delicious menu without fuss. The private function room was "right ready", with flexible floor plan, with a bar around the corner adjacent to the main spaces for a beer. Family friendly and with clean bathrooms. They are located on Rt 9 between Amherst Center and Northampton Center in Hadley, Massachusetts. It worked for all ages... For their kindness, I send this review. I hope you who live near UMASS Amherst area will stop in there for a meal and to scout their room. A great place for anything....after church function, birthday party, retirement gathering, alum gathering, shower, sports team dinner, bachelor party with dinner. Expect: casual and super welcoming and good value for the dollar because everything tasted homemade. Not far from the bridge over the CT into NoHo and the boat houses. Good place to eat after a regatta, or fishing outing on the CT River. Wishing them well in a time when restaurants are struggling!!! Thank you Mi Tierra, Rt 9 Hadley MA, near the bridge over the CT to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was visiting from out of town and was so impressed with this find! I'm sad that I don't think I'll ever be through there again š. Javi is a wealth of information and skills at the bar. I had an excellent mezcal margarita and a top shelf margarita. Both were excellent and I learned they just got #1 margarita in the Valley. With homemade margarita mix, it is well deserved. The also make horchata in house. The chips and tortilla are made in house and I learned their tortillas in stores etc. The chips are slightly thicker with more crunch and a little darker. Very good chips. I had a delicious shrimp ceviche and veggie fajitas. The shrimp ceviche had an array of fruit flavors and tomato. Plenty of medium whole shrimp, they did not cut them up. Javi was very nice to also ask me if I was ok with cheese on my beans in light of his observation of me getting a meatless meal, he was considerate to ask me about the dairy conflict. I was impressed with the menu and wish I could have stayed to have their plantains, yucca, and mole options. There was one female server, I think she is Javi's sister or cousin. She was extremely friendly to all the customers and the two of them handled the room with a breeze. This place is a must if you enjoy Mexican restaurants...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our 1st time there, and being Cinco De Mayo we thought it would be busy and it was. The 1st waitress asked us if we had been served and told us she would be right back. She didnāt come back!! I guess the 3 ladies she stopped and talked to were more important because she stood there talking to them for 10mins while tables filled up. She bent over backwards for those girlsā¦not worth keeping on as waitress. Estrella was fantastic, and tried her best to accommodate everyone. Our orders were cold, and my wifeās order was incorrect. She ordered a ground beef Chimichanga with Pinto Beansā¦got Black Beans and mostly rice with a WEE BIT of Ground Beef but, it was cold as well! Knowing itās Cinco De Mayo, and a Friday you would think there would be more help, guess they didnāt think a head. Wonāt be going back, and the only reason they got 3 starsā¦Estrella! She is a GEM, and a...
