When I ordered, I ordered GRILLED chicken fingers. I’ve always ordered GRILLED chicken fingers. The girl taking ordered said back to me “Grilled chicken fingers, right?” So she knew GRILLED chicken fingers. I pulled up to the window and, without checking my food, she put my food in the bag and handed it to me. I know they don’t have freshly cooked grilled chicken fingers so it takes a couple minutes to cook them so I thought it was weird that she handed me my food so quick. Needless to say, I was given the wrong food and when I drove back around all the girls looked at me and ran off. I sat at the window for 6 minutes and one of the girls looked at me a 2nd time and just turned around. SO DISRESPECTFUL. I’m in a robe so I couldn’t go in. This happened today, Sunday, September 11th at 3p.m. So if ANYONE knows the girls working, you better put it in park when you get your food and check it before you ever hit the gas cause if you turn back around and go back to the window because you’re not dressed enough to go inside, they’ll run and hide like children. 2 of the girls were blonde and one had brown hair with highlights. The one with the highlights is the one who looked my way twice and kept on making sauces like I wasn’t even there!! If I ever see those girls there again when I go through drive-thru I PROMISE I’ll leave and go somewhere else!! I’ve never met young people that were so disrespectful...

We drove through Haleyville around 9pm on the way to a nighttime tour at Dismals Canyon. Knowing our options would be slim at 11pm after the tour, we made a smart pit stop at Guthrie’s—our 10-year-old was already asking about food.
We went with the snack box, which was perfect for a pre-tour bite. He gave two thumbs up to the crinkle-cut fries—crispy, golden, and exactly how he likes them. The chicken fingers were decent, though his loyalty still leans toward the famous Colonel in the white suit. Guthrie’s sauce added a nice zing.
Later that night, we watched a YouTube video on Guthrie’s origins—really cool to learn how it helped spark the chicken finger trend. It made the stop feel like part of the adventure, not just a convenience.
If you're passing through Haleyville in the evening and need a quick, kid-approved bite, Guthrie’s hits the mark. Bonus points for tying into Alabama’s...
Read moreMy family is staying at a campsite for the weekend with our dogs, so we needed somewhere with a patio. This led us to Guthrie’s! We’re from out of state so we’ve never had it. This chicken is soooo good! The plates had a large portion of chicken and fries and the sauce was great too. The service was better than many places we’ve been to locally while on our trip and it was a very clean establishment. I highly recommend this to anyone coming through...
