Pho Vieng in Haltom City — serving up the BEST Lao food 🇱🇦✨ Our go-to spot every time! 🥢 #phovieng #LaoFood #HaltomCityEats #FoodieFavorites #HiddenGemEats

I came here for pho, since it's in the name, and was surprised to find out it's a Thai restaurant. I was a little disappointed but decided to give it a try anyway. I'm glad I did! The pho was surprisingly flavorful, and they give you massive portions. I like that the chicken is cut small, unlike a lot of other pho places. It was delicious. I am docking a point, though, because the noodles were very overcooked, which is a huge pet peeve of mine, and because the waitress never came back to check on me. Not even to refill my water. The restaurant wasn't even busy. It was also a little expensive. Almost $17 for a large bowl. I could get that and springrolls somewhere else. But, I'd still come back if I was in the area.

I had to come back for a second round—just to make sure my taste buds weren’t pulling a fast one on me. Pho Vieng’s fried chicken wings are next-level amazing. We ordered three servings and wiped them out so fast there wasn’t even time for a photo! And don’t get me started on the papaya salad—it’s pure perfection. This spot has officially made it into my top 3 go-to places for Lao food. The service? Impeccable—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The vibe is what you’d expect from a classic Asian eatery, but the flavors here are anything but typical. Already counting down the days until my next visit! Oh…it’s BYOB also!

I don’t say this lightly, time will tell, but… this might be my new favorite restaurant. Oh. My. Word. Okay. We ordered take out for 5 of us. My husband and I both ordered the seafood pad Thai, my two older kids got beef Pho, and I ordered my baby Pad See Ew from the kids menu. We also ordered the Lao Sausage (get the “house sauce” it’s magical.)

Every single thing was perfection. IN A TO GO ORDER!! What??? How in the world??? The seafood pad Thai had mussels (so sweet and fresh), shrimp (like 5 nice sized ones), squid that was cooked perfectly, and imitation crab. AH-MAZING. The noodles had that perfectly reduced sauce and perfectly roasted peanuts… drooling while I write this. The Pho I got for my kids was so rich and well rounded. Everything was packed great for transport too. The Pad see ew was perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. I can’t decide if the sausage was the best thing of all or not- but if it was- it won by a sliver. Oh my goodness. It...

Went to see what they have and ended up getting pad Thai for myself and it was delicious, my ex wife had their orange chicken which is also delicious. I tried the heavenly beef jerky and it's some of the best beef jerky I've ever had, it's more of a teriyaki flavor but that's my favorite anyway. Going to go back to try the crispy pork belly next time. The owner is nice and answered all our questions. We got it to go since they had a birthday party about to start. I highly recommend this place. Only one other place around that has great pad Thai. The price is also reasonable. I almost forgot I tried the mango sticky rice and...
