Hamburg Coney Island — Restaurant in Hamburg Township

I ordered the two extra-large eggs with hashbrowns, bacon, toast, and a half order of chocolate chip pancakes. I figured “half pancakes” would mean just one maybe even two pancake, but to my surprise, it came as an overwhelming three whole pancakes. Since I’d already ordered two large eggs, I wasn’t looking for such a big portion.

The hashbrowns were very undercooked. They were definitely boiled, but “cooked” isn’t quite the word I’d use to describe them. My over-easy eggs were also undercooked, which was pretty disappointing. The toast was, well, toast—one of the simplest things anyone could prepare.

The pancakes, though, were actually good, which was surprising. They were cooked all the way through and fluffy. It seems like the cook is only skilled at a handful of things, and unfortunately, eggs are not on that list.

This is definitely a place catered to the older generations, whose taste buds may be the ability to bare the taste of food that is blank and who probably think salt is spicy.

My server was quite nice but something was off about her.

Worst customer service / dining experience ever. I ordered a carryout today and got home to realize the apple sauce had mold in it and they forgot to give up the vegetables that came with one of our meals. We also got burned pancakes but I didn't even bother to mention that because my daughter didn't care. I called the restaurant to tell them about the missing vegetables and moldy applesauce and all they offered me was to come back and they would give me a double portion of vegetables. They didn't offer to do anything about the moldy apple sauce. I asked for a refund and they flat out refused. This is not the first poor experience I have had at this restaurant but it will indeed be my last! The management is very rude. I feel sorry for the servers...

Best Reuben sandwich in Hamburg! The omelettes are some of the best also, and the daily specials are priced right.

Coney islands are a dime a dozen - yet this one gets it right every single time.

I am a carpenter and my crew and I have been eating here 3-4 times a month for over three months now and we have yet to have a messed up order or disappointing lunch - that says a lot!

The coffee is good and the wait staff know their stuff - the only thing I can question is the iced tea. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it's spot on and other times it tastes off. It could be me but every time I've had a problem they've always switched out my beverage at no charge and you can't say...
