Ground Up Coffee — Restaurant in Hamden

First timers. My wife and I like to visit different local coffee shops on Sundays. Very cute, clean place. I had an iced mocha latte and wife had hot mocha latte. Coffee flavor was very good. For a fairly new start up, I was very impressed, my only constructive criticism would be to offer more extras in the form of syrups to add to coffees. And I think adding frappes to the menu would definitely bring in a lot more customers during warm weather. I have a personal favorite of frappe that I helped another coffee shop(Cheshire) create and everyone that has gone there, or that I have made at home, call it their “crack” of all coffees(frappes). I will certainly be returning to Ground Up Coffee and with hopes of seeing one of the owners and I can share my favorite and additional extras which I feel would bring in a whole other group of customers. I must say I visit this coffee shop daily since last summer. And I’ve noticed a change in everything from the service to the taste of the coffee to the atomosphere. And the change is for the worst. The girls at the register used to be bubbly and interacted with you not anymore! Today I walked in the placed smelled like URINE and burnt toast! The bathroom scope was wide opened and I can tell it hadn’t been cleaned in a while it was horrid! I almost walked out! Cute little breakfast place with good specials. Low energy, but a good place to get a coffee in Hamden after running some errands. I went back a second time and it was just as good as the first. However I do have to say they upcharged me. 5.50 for a latte, good price. Substitute milk, an extra dollar, fine. Add cold foam 1.10 whatever. So it should have been 7.60- accounting for tax, 8.02. Ridiculous but oh well- tell me why they charged me almost ten dollars. For one coffee.
