We have been loyal customers of Chick’s for decades-literally generations. This place was at the heart of our family gatherings forever. We now live in Florida and I made a reservation for 2 (my parents) while they were up north for a dear friend’s funeral. The staff would not add 1 person to the reservation, a sick elderly friend in the area that was going to be driven there to have a beautiful and rare evening out with friends. The guy (Peter, maybe?) simply said absolutely not to adding 1 person to the reservation in this exceptional case. His tone and attitude on the phone was absolutely horrible. He didn’t care who, what, or why this seat was needed. He was stuck on no-and would not find a creative way to make a night of nostalgia special for these loyal patrons. New management with zero people skills. They could take some notes from those that got them to where they are now. What a shame - I sure hope y’all don’t lose those recipes - without them,...
Read moreWhat we thought was going to be an enjoyable evening, turned out to be anything but enjoyable. First, I notice a women at another table point her finger at our table of 5, naive me thought she knew my sister as she has been a Pediatric NP in Trenton for 30 years and runs a clinic for children there now. The treatment was so rude, we had our food, which as usual was wonderful, packed to go as soon as served. No water offered, no appetizers offered, even though we ordered stuffed clams, never got them and unsure if they were on the check. We had just sat down to bread and salad, only to be asked for the 5 of us to be quiet, along with a table of 11 or 12 there too. The biggest surprise is that the rude not fun, jovial waiter was part owner. Shame on you!! This has never happened to me or my family who were there with me and grew up in the restaurant business. It was truly my worst restaurant...
Read moreI was not at all impressed with this restaurant. We were a party of 7 for a birthday. Both bread baskets on the table were not edible. They were burnt to a crisp and yet they were still put on the table. Everything is ala carte and no free refills on drinks. For the price of their menu, this was a big turn off. Several of us had chicken parmesan and the chicken looked like it had been put through a meat press because it was so thin. Because it was so thin, it was dry and hard. The waiters were very abrupt and we felt like we were bothering them because they seemed more interested in checking back on tables that apparently had "regulars. " The pasta was the only good thing I can say about this place. $23 for chicken parmesan the size of a small saucer less than half inch thick that doesn't include pasta or salad?? No thank you. ...
