I live in the area and have been wanting to give the restaurant a try. I want to start by saying the decor is really nice, I loved all the color, cultural decorations! There is clearly a language barrier however I speak Spanish so that was not an issue for us. So let me start with the food, I ordered the Birria Tacos and my mother ordered the El Tri Color. The birria tacos had very good flavor, however, the consume did not taste good; completely different from other places where I've eaten birria tacos. My mother's food consisted of grilled chicken & steak and spicy pork and 1 chicken mole enchilada. The chicken, steak and pork were very well seasoned and tasteful. The chicken mole was not to our liking at all! The beans were cold and bland, the rice was also bland. My reason for the two stars is the lack of attention from the staff. I had to request that water be brought to our table as our waitress wanted to take our food order w/out even taking our drink order first. Our food was brought out practically as soon as we gave the order which leads me to believe it wasn't fresh. Once food was delivered we never saw our waitress again. She finally came by when we were done so I requested the check. She brought back the check and then never returned! Needless to say, I had to go to the register to pay. I still left a 20% tip but I must say that I was very tempted not to. My mother & I agreed that we will not be returning to this establishment. While some of the food had good flavor, the lack of attention to us as their customers left a lot...
Read moreI found this place by accident. According to the cashier at the end, they've only been there for about a year. When I walked in there were many open tables and booths to choose from and one employee quickly got me a menu. The menu is written in both Spanish and English for the names and also the description. This is helpful for someone who enjoys Mexican food but does not speak Spanish, like myself. The server did her best to understand my request and asked me the same question 3 times. I don't think they get many guests like me. After receiving my complimentary bowl of chips, my beverage (Pina) arrived and was quite refreshing. My food (Carne Asada Quesadilla) arrived in a timely manner and was very tasty. The server did not come back to check on anything but that's okay, having a language disconnect can make people uncomfortable. Everything was delicious and the staff was hospitable. The restaurant was clean, and had an authentic Mexican vibe to it; including the loud, fun music to enjoy while you dine. If I am ever in this part of town again, I...
Read moreMy family came here for a birthday and had a lovely experience. This Mexican restaurant is very casual and fun, covered with vibrant, colorful paintings and decor. There's no shortage of things to look at - every single inch is covered with something, which creates a lot of visual interest.
They serve massive portions at low prices, and we ended up taking lots of the food home. The food is very tasty, if a bit greasy (depends on the dish), and fully authentic. It makes things easier when ordering if you can speak a bit of Spanish, although you'll get by if not. Service was quick and it wasn't crowded when we went for dinner (granted, it was a week night). You'll definitely want to get a big booth, even if you're dining alone or as a pair - the plates are very big.
Overall, a great place to bring the kids or come with friends on a Saturday night. The music is festive but not too loud, and the staff are very friendly. We'll definitely be...
