Stopped by on my family trip from Memphis to Atlanta. Decided to stop due to the reviews. It's a Sunday and it's early during the lunch hour and the place is packed. That's a good sign. The restaurant is clean and the front staff is friendly.
The waitress is quiet and her demeanor is sad. Don't know if she's having a bad day or if that's how she is, but I am hopeful that her inattentiveness is not a foreshadowing of what's to come. The food arrived, there's three adults, two children. The food arrives in the order of adult, child, child, and adult. The waitress gets busy, so we try to wait for the last adult. No food arrives from him.
With the encouragement of our plate-less companion, the rest of the party eats. Almost done with our meal, the waitress finally approaches to ask if we're alright. Our foodless companion informs her that his order never arrived and a second adult lets her know that his order was incomplete (he requested a substitution of fries). No apologies, but she will check it out.
Returns to say it's being prepared(?) (Not sure, she sort of mumbled) We wait, and wait, the party finishes with their dishes. We fed our foodless companion off our dishes, since we felt so bad for him. When she reappears, sans order, we requested the bill. She asks if we want the dish, it's too late now, so that's a no. She leaves. She returns sans bill and asks if we want the STILL missing order. No thank you, we want the bill, bc we gotta get back on the road. She leaves. She gives me the bill and instructs me to tell the cashier to remove the order.
I do as instructed, the cashier apologized (FINALLY someone apologizes). I pay the bill AND still leave the waitress a tip. Obviously, nowhere near the 22% that I am accustomed to tip, but the food that we DID correctly receive was well-cooked, well-seasoned, and...
Read moreWhen you think about Mexican and you want to think about authenticity or service or politeness and the clean establishment this is it.
having recently moved to a new location South of downtown Hamilton almost across from Walmart is a place that has their heads together and can get things done quickly when filled with people.
I ordered for ala carte street tacos to Al Pastor and skirt steak with pico de gallo on top and I could only eat two they were very good and very delicious. oh and the picture is two of them and the other picture is what you have to ask for... Their homemade chili sauce. For me the salsa and most of the shops in the Alabama area are not spicy enough and this chili sauce really tops the salsa off with a little bit of a sharp edge but that nice rounded chili flavor.
they may not have a buffet where you can get everything you want they may not have the very very cheap things that a person might want but for $2.75 for their street taco and you can only eat a couple this is a good place to eat they have on the menu where you can order three street tacos and the prices like under $8 so that's pretty good $0.50 less than if you ordered all...
Read moreYes, I know this place gets great reviews. That's why we chose it while passing through. Food was OK, not bad but not great. The worst part of our visit was while we were leaving. My brother needed to use the restroom and witnessed an employee use the bathroom and leave without washing his hands, then go into the kitchen. Needless to say, we will not be back.
Edited to respond to your reply. Nowhere did I state he was in the bathroom with anyone so don't be terrified. My brother was outside the door, heard the toilet flush and immediately the door opened and the employee came out. He checked the sink and it was not wet. I am terrified though, that your employee did not wash his hands after using the bathroom, then most likely prepared...
