!!HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH DEBBIE THE MANAGER!! As devout weekly locals coming here 35 yrs, Debbie’s behavior has been increasingly downright nasty towards both staff and patrons, and last night’s straw broke the camels back. Out of courtesy to my hard-of-hearing guest’s request, I asked Debbie “do you know if your salmon is farm or wild.” That’s it, all I asked, gently. Debbie postured bulging eyeballs up in my face, raised her voice in front of the whole restaurant and shot at me “ITS FRESH!! IT SAYS IT RIGHT ON THE MENU!!!” dramatically throwing her arms up rolling her eyes shaking her head is disgust, turning and walking away. She then went on barking orders at others, physically grabbed and pushed forward dear Mary saying “GET MOVING!”. Then UNPROMPTED, Debbie proceeded to come back to our table 4-5 times, combative, instigating trouble pushing herself into my face “ITS FRESH!!” “I TOLD YOU ITS FRESHHHH FRESHHHHHHH!” “YOU OBVIOUSLY CANT READ ITS FRESHHHH!!” I replied “no I simply asked if it was farm or wild. That’s all I asked. A question. No problem.” But she wouldn’t quit. Debbie was like a rabid dog, coming back at me (4 of us) making a huge scene, then screamed “IM THE MANAGER!!!! AND YOURE THIS CLOSE 🤏TO BEING PUT ON THE LIST NEVER TO COME HERE!! (Then points to all of us) “NO MORE SERVICE TO THIS TABLE!!!” The horrified couple sitting next to us stated “OMG!!! she’s getting worse each time we come”. To dear owners Paul and Kristen, and adored staff Mary, Caitlin, Janice, and other bartender Nancy?, we’ll be back to hand our Christmas gift$$ to you. But for as long as Debbie is still employed at our dear Weathervane, we are all boycotting. No surprise there’s been a loss of business there too. We all have bad days, and I never ever write reviews, but Debbie is an abusive bad apple, and she’s single-handedly ruining our beloved tavern right under entrusted P and K’s noses.
There’s no return from this incident (as it’s been ongoing). Until she’s gone, we and...
Read moreHad a horrible experience tonight with the blonde haired old waitress We walked in an hour before close. We stood at the entrance for 5 minutes waiting to be seated. The older blonde haired waitress walked past us twice and didn’t say a word. In fact, she glared at us because we were holding a baby in a car seat. After a few more minutes, she came back over to us. When she asked us how many and we said two, she said ‘ugghhh well I don’t have a high chair’. Mind you, we had a 5 month in a car seat and said a booth would be fine. She offered us a booth. The AC was on. I asked not to be somewhere where the AC was blowing. Her response was “well sit wherever you want then. I can’t control that”. As if she doesn’t know her own restaurant and know where the AC vents are or cannot go to the thermostat and turn the temperature up a couple of degrees. Such a disgrace for a restaurant with great food and SOME people who care about customers (Mary). Not only will we never be back here, but we will now be making sure we tell everyone we know in the area to avoid this place at all costs. You would think our baby was crying and causing a scene, but she was...
Read moreThis place gets 5 stars for hospitality alone. I'm currently sitting in North station waiting for the commuter rail. I called around just to see how late people are serving food until. The nice lady I spoke to on the phone said they stop serving food at 10 but was willing to try and make accommodations just to make sure I could eat. Unfortunately just on my end time was a big factor I'd feel TERRIBLE having people staying at least an hour later just for me. If I was closer I'd take them up on the offer but unfortunately I wasn't. This place has earned my business for as long as I'm in Wenham. I can't attest for the food but if it's anything like the service I just experienced it just...
