My husband and I came for brunch.. I give 2 stars as it had a very nice atmosphere.
The service really was not great at all. The spot is small. When we arrived we reluctantly were able to sit at the bar. If you’re looking to sit at a table with a group pleas make reservations.
Upon sitting at the bar, the bartender greeted us and wiped down the counter. Being that there was one bartender and how busy it looked my husband and I waited patient for our service. We waited about 10 mins for a server to asked if we had been helped yet by the bartender and she had to tell him that we were ready.
I’m very observant of service behavior as I’ve done waitressing myself but it is really disappointing when you sit at the bar and you just ignore customers. Service industry is about multi tasking and team work. Any servers that were not busy could have stopped and help behind the bar.
If a manager has to stop and tell his servers to get busy and turn over tables that says enough about the service.
But anyways! Really cute spots, lots of potential. Please strategize and work together.
As far as the food. I ordered the French toast and my husband ordered steak and eggs and it came with potatoes. I believe my French toast was a little burnt compared to someone’s else’s order that was a nice brown color and even bright fruit toppings. My husbands steak was a little over cooked.
Would be willing to try again at some point but with...
Read moreVisiting downtown Charleston for a little night out on the town and found this spot just walking by in which the live dj and urban atmosphere drew me and my friend in. So they were charging 10pp at the door ( still have to spend money on food drinks and hookah) so we sat at a table waited and no one acknowledged us so we got menus from the bar, continued to wait with no one still acknowledging us until I had to stop a waitress walking by about taking our order. I order the shrimp rice bowl and my friend orders the shrimp basket only to be told that burgers and wings were the only thing being served that night. Major disappointment as we were hungry and had chosen their establishment to patronize. The menu was overpriced but we were looking forward to the hookah. We decided to leave as we didn’t want burgers or wings we spoke with lady at the front door about a refund, next comes some guy who was extremely rude, unprofessional and defensive saying he has nothing to do with the bar or food he just collects money at the door and it wasn’t his problem that they weren’t serving a full menu and would not give us our money back which we were only there for about 20 mins. Try to support black business but when the business is rude and unprofessional I will never stand in...
Read moreI’ll say I’m glad we didn’t cancel our reservations due to our bellies still being a lil full from a full breakfast. So we agreeing, said we’d get drinks and starters. This turned into, both ordering the the salmon dinners, so good but really couldn’t force them down. So drinks and a togo box was the corse at this table. Presentation was great, food is great, Ora in the restaurant / bar is beautiful. Walked in still wanting to just not saying we have a reservation, but seems quite a few tables had reserved plaques on them, so we ended up giving our name and time which turned out good. Will be back again making sure we’re both on empty bellies. I mean, Look at these plates of food, why wouldn’t you wanna put it all away, fork bite by fork bite❓Plenty of drinks ( watermelon Martinis ) and one starter, the hookah’s we’re being used by other patrons as they sat, ate, and talked with staff and bartender. And the place started getting busy of parties. Sure when you visit, you’ll enjoy Martini Me just as...
