Called on 6/14 to place a pre-paid order for pick up on 6/16. Was told by the girl who took my payment that I could pick up my order before business hours as someone would be at the store. Arrived at 7am, which was my requested pick up time. No one was at the store, and no one answered the phone. Decided to wait until the 8am, which was the listed business hoursā¦no one to open the door or answer the phone. Finally, after waiting until 830am, I decided to leave and head to work, which I was now late for.
I called multiple times throughout the day and finally at 1130am, the female owner answered the phone. I explained my situation, to which her reply was, āWe were really busy yesterday. They shouldnāt have taken the order because we were tiredā. She asked if I wanted to pick up my order, to which I declined and asked for a refund. She said they were going to be opening at 1230pm that day, so I decided to head to the store for my refund. Store was once again closed. I later saw on Facebook that they had not even opened that day. No sign on the door, just what was posted on their business Facebook story.
On Wednesday, 6/18, I stopped by the store at 8am to attempt to get my refund. Closed again. The female owner walked out of the store and another patron asked if they were opening to which the owner said no because they were short handed. We informed the owner of the inconvenience of the inconsistent business hours to which she replied āweāre a small business and we open when we can. We have busy lives and canāt help it when employees call outā. The utter disregard for customers (or potential customers) is irresponsible, disrespectful, and bad for business.
I typically support small businesses in Hanford, but I will no longer be supporting this one. If they donāt respect my time and patronage, I will take it elsewhere. I will gladly choose Off the Vine for lunch, and La Tapatia for...
