After visiting Goblin Valley State Park and traveling towards Bryce Canyon, the Fat Man and his wife wanted lunch. Cruising into Hanksville, Utah. We stopped at Stan's Burger Shak. Stan's is a casual eatery dishing up grilled burgers, fries, and shakes near Lake Powell.
We decided to split lunch and started with a Banana Shake. It was a very thick vanilla soft serve with good banana flavor and a few chunks of real banana. I like mine a little thinner, but this was a good shake, and they give you a proper amount in the shake.
Next up, we went with the double burger and fries. The fries were cooked well with good crunch and seasoned well. They are out of a bag, and the serving size is adequate. The veggies on the burger were fresh and offered good crunch and texture to the burger. The brioche bun was fresh and had a good chew, a slightly sweet and buttery flavor. The American cheese was melted well and offered a gooey texture. The burger sauce was very sweet but helped cut through the burger patties. The patties tasted like they were frozen pre-formed and had minimal seasoning. The burger-to-bun ratio was okay, the patties were thin but not smashed; however, the burger lacked flavor and did not satisfy the palate.
Stan's has a full menu of burgers, wraps, fries, onion rings, salads and sandwiches. Pretty much everything you would expect from a roadside burger joint. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The Fat Man says that Stan's Burger Shak is NOT Fat...
Read moreHonestly with my other 4 stars that I have given I one hundred percent believe that this place deserves my number one spot of best places to eat my only issue with this place is one female that I cannot recall the name of, she's really questionable, she sometimes has you pay more if she feels like she doesn't like you she's done this twice to my fiancés grandmother and she lives in the same town but did so for no reason obviously we talked to the manager and the price was changed but it's questionable in my eyes (lemme state that this is only the one employee that it's happend with and as soon as I find out her name you all will be the first to know so she doesn't try to scam you too or something like that, her name is casy) Besides that I truly do enjoy eating here, they do have healthy options aswell and that is one thing that I found alot of places lacked (something for the vegetarian people) don't get me wrong I love meat but their veggie burger is honestly really good, they have awesome staff that seem nice and they always wipe the table after a customer is done with their food I like that like actually keep up on the sanitary part of the food industry, and that is why I am giving this establishment a 4/5. If you have stayed till the end of my review, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read all the way through, I hope you all have a great day or...
Read moreWhere do you go after hiking all morning in #littlewildhorsecanyon you go to #hanksville and eat at #StansBurgerShak I took a minute to decide what I wanted, in the end I went with a combo meal. first I substituted the #FrenchFries for the #onionrings which were house made in the morning. They use a #Panko breading which is not my preference, I prefer beer batter, but the fresh homemade taste made up for the use of Panko. Of course it’s Utah so that means #FrySauce for dipping the crispy onion rings in, A nice complimentary flavor. The bun on the #doubleBaconCheeseBurger was especially nice. A lovely Brioche bun that didn’t fall apart! The Double Bacon Cheese Burger also included Two quarter pound burger patties with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, bacon, and burger sauce. It was very tasty. I also had a very yummy #mochaShake it was cold and refreshing. Handcrafted and made perfectly, a wonderful compliment to the rest of the meal. There was plenty of seating, with very fast service. Once ordered I had plenty to look at while waiting for my food which wasn’t much time. When traveling thru Hanksville or close by, I will definitely...
