The only thing left good at Venus is their bar style pizza which I suspect was originally stolen from B&Rs restaurant years ago. Amazing how similar they are. But anyway... Venus has gone downhill alot! It is a sports bar / restaurant so I never went there looking for fine dining but it was always fairly consistent and relatively good food. But the last 3 times we stopped in there for a meal it has been a disaster. The first time they failed to seat us before they sat multiple couples ahead of us that came in well after us. We ended up leaving because we ran out of time. The next time they sat my wife and 9 year old daughter at a high top in the bar. Yes, a 9 year old in the bar… right beside a table with a couple speaking loudly about 2 gay people providing felicio to each other! When they asked to be reseated they were told it would be an hour! There were multiple open booths at the time... My wife was also served a mudslide when she requested a Rasberry Stolie and Sprite and the waitress begged her to just take it and she wouldn't be charged... which she was!!! They left without eating that night and went to 550 Tavern. Tonight we tried to have dinner there one last time. My daughter's favorite meal she ordered. Buffalo chicken fajitas! We have been getting them for years. The sizzling hot plate with buffalo chicken, the plate with all the veggies and cheese, the tortillas in the warming dish... You all know what fajitas are!! Well... Venus no longer does. She was served a fajita salad as I would describe it. We left Venus for the last time tonight. Something horrible has happened there. A new manager maybe? Maybe the restaurant is just going under and it's struggling to keep its head up? I'm not sure, but I've done my best to try to look past the couple last outings and tonight was the last straw. I could always say the food was still good, and like I said, I didn't expect first class dining there. But now the service sucks, the food sucks, and no one seems to care. That's the last nail in the coffin for us.
BTW…. They call the attached picture their Buffalo Chicken Fajitas!!! 🤦🏻♂️
My old review below! I’m sorry I kept trying. Should have learned from this experience. 🤷🏻♂️
Good evening, Came in for dinner tonight with my 9 year old daughter for a date night but unfortunately was never seated. We are fairly regular guests a couple times a month on average and am familiar with your service. Your hostess tonight was a deer in headlights. I gave my name and I patiently waited a little over 25 minutes. I expect the wait and 25 minutes isn’t all that long until you started seating groups of people that came in after us, the same size as our group. I watched these people put in their names. Only one way that happens is to be there first. I asked the hostess if she skipped us and she looked me in the face and lied instead of just admitting the mistake. Holy crap do I hate being lied too!!! And now here I sit somewhere else listening to my daughter complain that she’s not eating the only thing she wants, Buffalo Fajitas, while your hostess thinks I’m a blind FKN idiot.
Thanks for the...

Read moreWe had a big group of people, yes. But we called ahead of time to let them know, hoping that they might prepare for that. I arrived at 12:42 pm and didn't get a morsel to eat until almost 2 pm. I mean...that's just a fact. I don't like to be critical. Maybe they just can't handle big groups of people. At least if they could have brought us out some bread while we were waiting... I had made plans for that day that I seriously had to cancel because I wasn't expecting to be at the restaurant for so long. Maybe I'm unreasonable, I don't know...maybe an hour and fifteen minutes is a perfectly reasonable amount of time to wait for bar food...you tell me. Once I got my food, it was pretty good. The steak tips were about a B-, but the squash was a solid A+, and the rice was an A-. So, overall, pretty good food once we finally got it. Most people in our group ordered pizza and sandwiches hoping they might get their food faster. That was smart. My steak tips came out dead last. They probably don't take as long to get people their food in small groups. But steer clear if you have a big group -- particularly if you go in hungry. It's not a bad restaurant, but it's definitely more of a "roadhouse" bar. Probably a great place to watch the Superbowl while eating...
