Well, we’ve been customers since the place opened, years ago.
And through the years, it’s been a fairly reliable place for a great pizza.
It’s had its staffing issues through the years, but somehow they’ve always persevered and continued to produce great pizza.
We dropped by last night around 4 o’clock in hopes that we could beat the dinner rush.
Once we were seated, we waited 30 minutes for water and our drinks. I asked when I ordered my drink if they had Rookies root beer on tap and I was assured that they did.
When the waitress came back 30 minutes later with a Diet Coke, she brought my root beer, which was a Maine Root beer in a bottle. When I asked her what happened to my draft Rookies she said that this bottle root beer was the only root beer they had.
She didn’t listen to me when I placed my order. She only heard root beer.
We ordered a Caesar salad to be brought first, followed by two small pizzas.
We waited another 45 minutes for our food to come to our table. The salad and the pizza is all showed up at the same time.
We had specifically asked for the salad to be brought first.
We asked her to take the salad back and take it off our bill as we wanted to eat our pizza while it was hot.
Again, she came back with a gift card for nine dollars for the salad that we asked her to take off our bill. She told us the manager told her to give us the gift card.
My wife went up to speak with the manager, who also happened to be making the pizzas.
My wife explained that we did not want a refund on a gift card that we wanted to take off our bill and the manager knew nothing about our situation and refunded us our nine dollars in cash.
She did not spoken to the manager about the problem nor had he told her to issue us a gift card.
I’m just gonna say that it’s going to be a very, very long time that we- as loyal customers - are going go back.
I think there are training issues and a staffing issues until they have some professional management on site, who knows how customers should be treated.
Positive Pie has been a great place to go through the years and I hope that it can turn things around and come back from its current sad state.
There was one brand new waitress there last night that was doing the very best She could try to satisfy everyone else, even though she was getting no support from the other two waitresses who appeared to be customer avoidant. It’s like they did not want to take care and serve customers.
So we waited 30 minutes for our Diet Coke and root beer and another 35 minutes until our pizzas hit the table. And when we arrived, there was a table of six and a two top.
By the way, we got served before the two top that was there before us.
So last night was not fun or an enjoyable evening out for a...
Read moreI almost never write a review, but I was so disappointed with this experience, I had to. We started with the garlic "knots". While they tasted alright, they weren't really knots. They were some kind of rolled up stuffed dough. 3 of them were "puffy" and 2 of them were flat as pancakes. No big deal, things happen. Then the entrees started to arrive. My husband's Carbonara arrives. The top of it is crusted over and slightly dried out. A tell tale sign that it has been sitting for a while. One daughter ordered the Shrimp Scampi. She usually cleans her plate. She left half of the plate. She said it was just very bland. No desire to take it home. The other daughter ordered the Sous Vide Chicken. She looked at me and said, "That is some seriously dry chicken." It was a bone-in cut. You have to try pretty hard to dry out a piece of bone-in chicken. Then comes the worst offense of all. I had been looking forward to my ribeye steak all day long. My dish comes out. It was not a ribeye cut at all....it was either a sirloin or a strip! I'm a cook, so I knew it wasn't a ribeye as soon as they placed the dish in front of me. It's pretty hard to confuse the cuts. The shape, marbling, and tenderness of the cuts are completely different. If you are out of ribeye, be honest about it, and ask if the other cut is alright. Don't try to pass off a lower grade cut of meat for a ribeye, and charge me $24 for it! I contemplated saying something about it, but at that point, what were they going to do? I just wanted to finish up and leave. I wanted to love this place. as we come to visit family here every year. I always like to give a place a second chance just in case they are having an off night, but with everyone's meals being a disappointment, I just can't see giving them that...
Read moreI have been a customer of PPH since it opened. Last night (Sunday, August 17, 2025) was absolutely atrocious! We arrived at approximately 6:40pm. The restaurant was busy but there were several open seats at the bar. We sat at the bar and the female bartender absolutely ignored us. She walked by us a couple of times but kept going back down to the front end to speak with customers who had been there. We were trying to figure out the beers available by looking at the Taps on the wall. There were so many files on the wood panel behind the taps it appeared the wall was moving. I am not exaggerating... there were 100s of bugs all over that wall. The bar top was sticky and appeared to not have been wiped down for quite some time. I was finally able to get the bartenders' attention and asked if we might please see a beer list? She went and retrieved menus and the beer and cocktail lists and then tossed them across the bar to us. Never eye contact, never how's it going tonight, nothing!! And, then, she continued to ignore us. After seeing the bugs on the wall, obvious lack of cleaning, and being totally ignored we got up and left. We dropped over $100 at the Cork & Fork - which could have been spent at PPH. I cannot imagine how Carlo Rovetto would have reacted to see his restaurant in such disarray. Imagine what Shaun Hill of Hill Farmstead Brewery would have thought to see the beer taps with bugs crawling all over them. What has become of Positive Pie...
