Sabai Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Hardy

My husband and I came in on Monday evening for dinner service. We started with steamed dumplings (4). They were just OK probably frozen. We then had the fresh papaya salad which was excellent, flavorful and very spicy. (Our waitress never asked us about spice preference through the course of the evening). Next was the Tom Ka Kai soup which was which was again ok, fresh ingredients but lacking in flavor (no lemongrass) and overly sweet. We then sampled the Pad Ke Maow, Crispy Duck and Red Curry. The Crispy Duck with fried rice was one of the best meals I have ever had. Packed full of flavor and cooked to perfection with an assortment of crisp veggies. The fried rice was also well prepared and some of the best we had ever tasted. The Pad Ke Maow was somewhat of a disappointment. Other experiences of this dish have been very spicy with an assortment of flavors. Here however we recieved plain fried noodles and chicken with a few veggies but no accompanying sauce, ginger, chili, fish sauce, lemongrass etc. Finishing with the red curry, we found it was alright. Not spicy, again overly sweet but a generous serving of shrimp and excellent roasted vegetables. Sabai Thai has only been open a couple of weeks. We've now found our way in each of the past 2 weekends. Amazing options. So many choices and everything is so fresh and full of flavor. The young couple who opened the restaurant are so friendly and such great hosts. Our waitress today was also fabulous. Friendly, polite, timely. My wife could only liken the experience to the many mom and pop restaurants we dined at more than 20 years ago living in Italy. No need to hope they succeed...they are already killing it. I am super grateful for this wonderful, delicious restaurant! I love the Green curry, the vegetables are firm and the eggplant very flavorful. The price is great for the quantity received (always have leftovers enough for a snack or meal). Everytime we’ve been the service was polite, quick and no mistakes.
