Murrel's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Harrah

We tried Murrel's for the first time yesterday. I had ordered a big meal for me and my husband and my parents, to-go. To start, we ordered 2 orders of chips and queso. My first, only, and biggest complaint is that I wish they included more queso with the order. I'm glad we did 2 orders of chips and queso because that ended up being enough for the 4 of us. Though, the queso was absolutely phenomenal!! That is some of the best chips and queso my family has had. My parents both ordered the fried chicken quesadillas with sides of onion rings. They said the chicken quesadillas out-do both of our local Mexican restaraunts. They absolutely loved them. Murrel's was not conservative with the side orders as well. The onion rings were very large portions and were honestly the best onion rings I have tried. My husband and I both ordered burgers and they were comparable to an upscale steakhouse/restaraunt, just wonderful! The veggies were so fresh, and the burger itself tasted so amazing! I got a side of their loaded fries and my husband got a side of their tatertots. The portions were again so big, there was definitely some to be left over. (Which was great!!) But the loaded fries are, again, the best I've tasted - same for my husband. The tatertots were very very good but I'm not big on tatertots. My husband sure loved them. Overall our experience with Murrel's was the best! They know what they are doing and I feel blessed they are so local to us! The best restaraunt I have eaten at in a very long time, possibly ever. I already look forward to eating there again.

My suggestions to Murrel's: Please add a bit more queso to the to-go orders. Please add club sandwiches to your menu. That would make...

Wow! So I've had Murrells a few times over the last few weeks due to my kiddo having spinal surgery and me trying to lessen my own load! The first few times my husband picked it up. It would be at least 45 minutes before I could sit down to eat b/c that's just what a mama does. I wasn't all that impressed but I knew it was b/c it had sat (cheeseburger & chili cheese fries). I don't dig the chili. It's way way off and needs tweaking.

I got to pick up our order today. I was so happy to see Fast As Hell Jeff Rozelle's car on the wall!! I got home and got to eat it hot!! The cheeseburger, yeah buddy! I got fried pickles. I didn't dig those. It's something with the breading and the pickle slices are too thick maybe? We'll keep ordering and trying everything. That cheeseburger beats anything around here!

Given the limited menu, the food is decent but the atmosphere and customer experience needs work. When I come to a bar with 4 TVs, I expect sports to be on. Almost every time I’ve come in, it’s been on Entertainment Tonight or the local news. This doesn’t help set the bar mood. Music is either really loud or not playing at all. When music is played, it’s Toby Keith every other song. Toby Keith sucks. Play some classic rock and real country. They should market to the local audience. Bar has great potential but needs to find its identity. Many times, even though they are not busy, customers are not acknowledged for some time. An investment in customer service training and some marketing would go a long way. Would hate to see this place close with such good potential in the limited...
