Hardee’s — Restaurant in Harrington

I wish I had more time to see what they had to offer but we were on our way to the Delaware State Fair when someone complained about being hungry and since Hardee’s had always been my favorite fast food restaurant I asked if they could wait till we got there to which they all said yes. Since the Hardee’s I grew up loving in South Jersey closed down 25 or 30 some years ago I have only had the pleasure of eating at one maybe 10 times since then so I am not very familiar at all with what there is to order. Since I wasn’t all that hungry I decided to have something small so I tried their loaded fries forgetting that when most fast food places talk about cheese on fries it is the nasty cheese whiz that some think is good even on a steak sandwich. News flash, It’s Not. I also had thought the picture had shown the larger steak fries or at least crinkle cut but was disappointed again when it was the tiny little fries that most fast food places use just because they can get away with it. My older daughter however got the 5 piece chicken nuggets or fingers or whatever they were called and was not able to finish them so I was able to have one of them that was maybe a little better than other places but not enough to go out of your way to get them. My other daughters boyfriend got some sort of burger that he said was good but he will eat just about anything, even ham. Please don’t get me wrong if I am in the area again and others are needing a meal I will choose Hardee’s before McD’s, B K, W or RB’s but my first choice would be to pack a lunch to take with us. If I do return again and I feel they deserve a better rating I will edit this since part of my review is based on not having a lot of time to look...

Tonight i was going to order the 2 for 5 fish sandwich. I was told there was a 7 minute wait on fish. I decided to order the really big hardee no lettuce large fries and a large diet no ice. I pull up and pay get handed a soda and am asked to pull to the parking lot. I waited 17 minutes after paying and am watching the people inside trying to figure out what order is what. I know this because i see them taking food out of a bag and put ut back in then out and back in. After i got my food it was of course wrong as there was lettuce on the burger. I drive back through and they take the bag and in 3 minutes i had the correct food, but no receipt. I was told, "Here you go honey, have a good night." What I did not get was a simple "I'm sorry". So over 20 minutes for an order of 11.39 where my 5 dollar order would have only taken 7 minutes? I do not think there will be a next time after tonight. The sad part is this had been a training store in years past, but it doesn't seem like this store is able to help the customers much less train employees. Forgot the Napkins! I do love Hardee's Mushrooms and Swiss burgers, so it was kind of a treat to stop in, and go inside to order our food for carryout with the lifting of the COVID-19 restrictions. While we waited a gentleman returned, because they didn't give him napkins with the meal he just got for his family. The wait wasn't too long, our order was given to us. We were thanked, and were out the door. Got into our vehicle, and guess what??? NO NAPKINS! I mean we can't stay in the restaurant to eat, carryout or drive through are the only options, which makes the napkins more important, because once you're out the door and down the road it's too late. I'll still go back to Hardee's, but I guarantee that I will check the bag...
