My wife and I wanted barbecue, so we drove down to Harrisburg to the Bar-B-Q Barn. This is a quaint rustic place, as you will see in the photos. My wife ordered a smoked turkey sandwich. Unfortunately, it was just average. It was more like sliced lunch meat and didn't have much smoke flavor to it. But she said it was average. I ordered a rib platter, Kicking Ribs, I believe they called it. They were barbecue ribs with some hot sauce on them. I really enjoyed the ribs. They are some good ribs, black on top, just like blackened ends, and the French fries were crispy outside and soft in the middle and spiced just right. The baked beans I had were the best baked beans I've had in a barbecue joint in a long time. Still, not up to my standards, but they were quite a bit better than any place in a while. Our server was friendly with a smile and very helpful. Answered all our questions. As I said, the atmosphere is very rustic. Appropriate for a barbecue place. Read moreWe have eaten here on a few occasions. The food has always been good as well as the service.
Tonight we watched other diners come and go while we waited almost 40 minutes for our meal to arrive.
Our waitress never told us the dinner specials and forgot to bring our drinks until our meal was on the table. The meals got mixed up so she brought an extra plate.
She never came back to refill our drinks.
I finally went to the front desk to ask for more iced tea and the bill. I got the take home boxes myself.

Hopefully on our next visit we will have...
Read moreThe people were nice, I ordered3 pies from this restaurant for Christmas dinner, have not had their food before but I was told their pies were really good. I ordered Apple, chocolate and pecan, the apple was Horrible, it was as if someone sprinkled apple slices with a little bit of Cinnamon and sugar dumped them in a nasty lard tasting crust with no filling, literally just apples and dried out! The chocolate pie tasted like water downed pudding and nasty lard crust, another gross pie. The pecan was so good and soggy that when it was cut it literally came apart while lifting the cutting knife another gross mess! 😝 We did not have very good pies and I will never buy...
