Neno's Place — Restaurant in Harrison

I had been wanting to check this place out for a while due to some of their Facebook posts showing stunning drinks and mouth watering food and was finally able to make it in. It has a wonderful atmosphere where it feels fancy, but not to the point of needing to get dressed up, but also homey enough. A perfect combo for a place to come for a large variety of alcoholic drinks and mixes (that I was unable to try at the time) and quite the coffee selection. I got an iced, bourbon caramel macchiato and it was yummy! I unfortunately did not take a photo of the grilled cheese I got, but it was good, especially paired with the tomato basil soup that I kind of stole from my partner. We had been to this restaurant before and really enjoyed it. This time was absolutely terrible. We arrived to find 8 customers in total, two of which were walking around barefoot, which we didn't see until after our food arrived. My party of 2 found a seat that we liked as the sign instructed. Although we made eye contact with staff it was over 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. They were busy talking and hanging out at the bar area. When staff finally came to our table it took 30 minutes before we got our appetizer which was literally nachos with no meat. Over 45 minutes after ordering we got our chicken quesadilla and they forgot the other meal. Over an hour after ordering we got the other meal which was a grilled cheese. When a restaurant can’t make queso, it’s time to leave. From start to finish the entire experience was horrible. They only had 1 person working the bar, taking orders and customer service. He was a nice man but clearly new and unable to keep up. The food was not good. As stated had the queso was thick and clumpy. The chips were very thick. The charcuterie included canned olives and grocery store cheeses. It took almost 45 min for my husbands BLT to come out and the place wasn’t busy. Don’t even get me started on my cosmopolitan. He did the first one great but once we complained about the time delay, the next one was overly sweet and terrible. Made me think he did it on purpose.
