Casa Gallardo Fajita Factory — Restaurant in Harrisonburg

In spite of the good reviews here, this restaurant has many flaws. I will start with the positive. They have a salsa bar and the restaurant seemed clean. After we were seated, we were forgotten. Several parties entered and were served drinks and chips, while we sat. We had a window table, so it isn't like we were invisible. Our waiter never offered to refill our drinks or bring us more chips, although other patrons were given this service. After a long wait out meals came out. My fajitas were so spicy I could not eat them. My meal sat almost untouched but no one came out to check on us. Finally a staff member offered to refill my drink and I told her my meal was unedible. She claimed no spices were on my meal. Really? The man behind us had not been followed up on also. When his bill came he told the waiter that he had been given the wrong meal. He ate it anyway because no one followed up. Another patron near us remarked to her friend that her meal was too spicy and just OK. After watching a few other guests having drinks refreshed and being asked if their meals were OK and getting zero service ourselves, we decided that we will not return. Service and...

I've been to many Mexican restaurants, and there would always be an issue. Usually not enough flavor, tastes frozen, too salty, I mean I really had a hard time finding a consistent good place that didn't taste cheap or fake. I was skeptical when my fiance said we should try out fajita factory because we're not from town. All I can say is the food was literally 10/10, I almost finished my entire plate but I was so full I couldn't. They have great, friendly and fast service. They also have a salsa bar with 10 different types of salsas to choose from. Their Charo beans and rice were cooked perfectly with amazing flavor, I also had the chimichanga which was the best I've ever had. The chicken is usually plain and unseasoned with a soggy tortilla. Not this chimichanga, perfect juicy chicken and veggies were inside with a golden crust tortilla and queso on top. I mean this place was like finding gold. My fiance and I had never been to this restaurant before and had seen that they had a 4.6 rating, so we figured why not give them a try. Boy, when I write, this place is amazing, it sure is. The server was a little slow coming over to us after we had been seated but other than that the service was impeccable! The food was full of flavor and presentation of the food was wonderful. There was even a salsa bar were you could get your own salsa. I've been ik plenty of Mexican restaurants I've only seen one other place that has that. I thought that was a pretty neat thing to have here. Over all the place was a wonderful place to eat and the experience would definitely have me wanting to come back. I will note however it was definitely not busy so service may be different if they were actually busy. We came in at an odd time too so that could have been the reason for it not being busy.
