inconspicuously situated in a small strip mall in South Franklin just south of Barker, this restaurant definitely serves food above the caliber of its outward appearance from the street. I am greeted upon entering by a qt3.14 mesera who after dealing with a customer who was ordering some ice cream (or something served out of a glass case ) I sat down and was served a basket of chips and two very well done salsas, a green avocado salsa , and a molcajete style red , thick and rather spicy . I had the caldo de barbacoa, and a red pork tamale. the caldo de barbacoa which I would classify more as a estofada or guiso was a lamb and bean soup, with fairly strong flavor of marjoram I believe. really well done. I am super pleased to have such a good Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood. I was a little concerned with moving to Hartford that finding good Mexican food would be an issue. that is...
Read moreFood was great 😊 the server was also great. It was up til the end when we were going to pay. Basically you are forced to give a tip when you dine there because others don’t tip. Everywhere I have eaten I always tip and to see that this restaurant does this is so disappointing. The last time I have eaten here was when I was 23 and they have changed so much never have I ever thought they would be like this. I will not go back because of that and the way the receipt 🧾 is doesn’t not help you pin point what your paying for. The menu should have the prices of the food on there so ppl can have an idea on what they’re spending. But this restaurant is basically charging you whatever they want because there is no price...
Read moreI'm grateful that a random craving and Google search led us to this lovely establishment! It is such a cute spot!! Everyone is friendly, full of smiles and jokes!! But y'all... THE FOOD..... THE. FOOD!! Is so good and flavorful. You don't even need the house made salsa, guac and sour cream but they sure don't take away from how fresh and delicious everything is. It really feels like someone's abuelita was in the kitchen working some magic. I tore those tacos up when we got home. Sorry I was so involved with my tacos that I forgot all about taking a picture. They hooked us up!!! I'm already planning a...
