What a pleasant surprise!! My wife and I had decided to drive to Quechee on a whim... we are new to the area and didn't know what to expect. I happened to see the WhistlePig sign and we turned in. We had a great time! The gentleman waiting on us was informative, helpful, and genuinely friendly. He made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions. The whiskey, of course, was fantastic! A nice pour of an 18-yr old double-malted rye for just $18 is a bargain in my book! Oh, and it was soooo worth it! WhistlePig's bottled cocktails, the Orange Fashioned and the Smoked Fashioned are worth the trip all by themselves! The smoked pecan and maple flavors are just unbelievable. A bottle of the Smoked Fashioned had to go home with us! Highly recommended stop if you're in the area!

Addendum.... We went back....if I could give another few stars, I'd certainly tack them on there. We got to try a pour of their Boss Hog IX selection, "Siren's Song." Now, if they would have had a bottle available to purchase that day, I would have bought it, even at it's $699 price. It would have been worth the price. The flavors in that glass are indescribable, the nose likewise. If you find yourself there on a day when they have a bottle for tasting, do yourself a favor and go for it! It's a...

May make good tasting whiskey but avoid ordering from website for anything. They use an unscrupulous distributor called Speakeasy with poor communication and shipping tracking. My order was for a Christmas gift to my 70 year old father in Florida who rarely leaves his community apartment. Yet after three alleged delivery attempts by the delivery service called Sonic the gift was returned and I was out my $123. When I contacted WhistlePig they said buyer beware and contact Speakeasy. When I contacted Speakeasy they said for another $25 we can try to deliver again. Huh? Then they tried to tell me my father wasn't home however when I contacted him, he didn't leave his place for two straight days. In addition there was no notice or contact numbers to try and call Sonic the delivery company. Speakeasy told me it was because a signed delivery was needed as this was alcohol. My reply was that was aware as I've ordered from Bro Basket multiple times and never had these kinds of problems. Very disappointing as WhistlePig will never see my patronage again. All of this because they wouldn't stand behind their product ordering from their website. What a joke. Oh and by the way, this can't be called Bourbon. It's not...

I will say from a whiskey standpoint this was worth five stars but the tasting room was rather small and cramped. Anyway we normally stick to small micro-distilleries but couldn't resist the chance to do a tasting for this whiskey. Any guy way these guys really specialize in rye whiskey although they do have a bourbon and a wheated whiskey. So they do this tasting in flights of 3 and we did the Core and Distillers Craft flights. Vermont Nemesis to 1 oz per customer so the flights are pretty small but that's plenty to get a good taste. I'll save both of our favorites was a 12-year rye, but I don't think we'll be buying it anytime soon at $119 per bottle. That turns out to be relatively cheap as they have a 15-year rye at $289 per bottle and a 18-year rye at $399 per bottle. The 12-year ride is finished in three different wine casts so that probably really contributed to the...

On our last day in Vermont my love and I took a little drive. I was surprised to learn that my favorite rye whiskey was made in Vermont and there were few tasting rooms around you can visit and take the opportunity to sample some of their newest and most delicious creations here. Now there is no food here and you can only only have 1 ounce total so for 3 sips that's barely enough but our host Bill was great. Very knowledgeable and enjoyed learning about the distillery. The best part of course was sitting across from my love, giggling and enjoying our Vermont getaway. What a magical place to celebrate our love and journey. Thanks for the adventure make everyday worth living. Your moon,💋🖤🖤💋🖤
