Our party of 8 enjoyed fabulous food, drink and service at the Devens location recently, with one snag. The food included Taquitos, Guacamoles, Quesadillas, Enchiladas, Chile Polano, Pork Belly Tacos and Vegetarian Burrito. All were delicious and beautifully presented! Our server, Ryan, was fantastic, professional, attentive and friendly! The Bandolero margaritas were very delicious! The reason for 1 star is that I registered for the VIP $10 off coupon, and verified that my profile was listed on the Bandolero website site before going there. However, according to our server, I should have received a text or email with a $10 off code. They would not honor the $10 off offer on our $300+ meal. Very deceptive!! It’s been 3 months and still have not received any code. I hope to be back in Massachusetts during the summer of 2025 and hope that they will send me the coupon code by then and honor it at that time. Their website says “ GET $10 OFF YOUR DINE-IN ORDER! Sign up to become a VIP to receive the offer. You know you want to! Come swing by!” which I did, but still no $10 discount!! 😡

3/16/25 Update - I have reached out to the restaurant at the email address provided in their response and STILL have not received the promised $10 eCredit gift certificate, even checking all of my folders including spam and junk. Even though there food and service were good, we cannot recommend this restaurant based on their poor communication and...

We recently took our family on a short local vacation to Devens. (We live in Western MA.)

Looking at some local resteraunts in Devens, we decided to try Bandoleros. My wife has taken us to so many Spanish resteraunts. This is now my favorite Spanish resteraunt! I even put it in my top 5 places to eat. (And we have had the pleasure of eating out at many places, both affordable and highend.)

For food, I had their Street Corn (off the cob) for an appetizer. It tasted fresh and delicious!

I then had the Carne Asada. I could have eaten a second plate if it was put in front of me. The steak was flavorful and thin (yet juicy). It also came with numerous sides that were all prepared to perfection and complimented the steak so well!

For dessert, we had the churros. Do not leave this place without trying their Churros. They are warm and crunchy with a soft inside that is stuffed with hot chocolate sauce. I am not that much into sweets, but I could have eaten another set of these!

I love the dimmed light atmosphere along with the Spanish heritage artwork and decorations. I did not get our waiters' name, but he was a pure gentleman and gives that "welcome to our family vibe".

My wife and I are looking forward to coming back for our next dare...

I have no idea why people rate this place so highly. It does not live up to expectations, and is expensive for very basic Mexican fare.

Not vegetarian friendly...the rice is made with chicken stock. Nachos dish came with exactly 10 nachos, laid out side by side on a plate. The toppings were unimpressive. NOT worth the price. Vegetarian fajitas was roasted broccoli. Sooo much roasted broccoli. For $19, you get 3 tortillas. Burrito was badly made. All the rice was on one half, and fillings on the other. And the first attempt was sent back because the cook didn't follow directions for the ingredients. No hot sauce was offered, so it had to be requested. When the server brought it, there were two small bowls of different sauces, and the server did not mention what was in them or heat levels. Since there is a nut allergy and one of the sauces clearly contained ground seed of some sort, they weren't used.

Across all these dishes, there were no interesting or distinctive flavors, and the ingredients are the same as all other middle-tier Mexican restaurants.

I would not make an effort to go here. Drive a few more miles and find Zapata's in Fitchburg, or El...

This place is an out-of-the-way GEM. It's definitely kind of inconspicuous and looks like a bank from the outside, but don't be fooled – everything from food, service, and atmosphere makes it worth visiting if you're in the area. I'm from Texas and this place serves dishes you'd find on a Tex-Mex menu back home so if you're craving fajitas or queso fundido (or regular cheese dip), this is the place to go. Tbh it's even better than some of the Mexican places I've been to in Boston/greater Boston proper. I had the al pastor fajitas and they were DIVINE – the pork was full of flavor and was complemented by the large slices of pineapple, sautéed onions, and melty cheese. My partner even said if we come back he would 100% order it for himself. Also Gerardo (our server) was very friendly and attentive and the food came out at a great pace. He even asked us if we wanted more chips & salsa before I could even ask, almost like he read my mind! Overall fantastic quality of food and service, would come here again if I'm in the area.

I was really happy with this choice. Everyone enjoyed everything, which doesn't happen that frequently in the group that I went here with. We started with guacamole and queso, and both were excellent. I wish they came with more chips. Everyone's meal was great, too. Between the bowl, the burrito, the chimichanga and the tacos, everyone was happy. We finished by splitting tres leches and an order of the churros. The churros were filled, which meant they didn't have some of the crispiness that I prefer, but they were still really good, and that's a personal preference, anyways. The only thing I will say is that everything was a little over salted. So if you have an issue with salt, beware. Next time we go back (yes, you'd better believe there will be a next time) we may ask them to go a little lighter with the salt.

Well worth the trip to Devens. Best, most authentic Mexican and TexMex ever eaten in Massachusetts. Celebrating multiple birthdays, so did not skimp on ordering. If you want Americanized food, this is not the place for you. Dined on a Saturday night. Indoors was packed and a bit warm. Bar drinks were well balanced flavor wise and well made. Chicharones and tamelitos appetizers were fantastic. Forgot to take pics. Entrees were great. Tasted even better than the gorgeous presentation. I had the enmoladas. Sauce was complex cocoa and chiles; savory, not sweet. Generous shredded chicken filling absorbed its sauce, so needed sour cream or guacamole to help chew. If you like authentic Mexican and TexMex, this is a 'don't miss place
