Ordered the Big Cod Bites & Chicken Tender appetizers. The Cod Bites were a pleasant surprise, with a nice outer crunch & a decent amount of meat. Requested both BBQ & honey mustard sauces to go with the tenders, but was a bit surprised when I got the bill that each sauce was considered "extra" - would have thought at least one would be included with an order of tenders as a norm. Also weird, one carried a charge of $0.50 but the other was $0.52, have no idea why the difference.

Biggest downside was the service. Mid-afternoon on a weekday, so not overly crowed; two regulars seated at the bar (who definitely had the ear of the lone server), our table of two & apparently a few others seated at the outside patio. With the door arrangement, server struggled to open both doors while carrying items to the outside table(s). Got up more than once to hold the door for her to avoid any disaster. First time there; service and food (appetizer) were okay but bartender was abrupt and did not inform us that the kitchen was closing when it was clear we were going to order more food at some point. Bartender did not give me a ticket for my total. She gave my friend her bill but did not give me a bill. She just verbally told me what my total was which was more than my friend's total. This seemed odd and I'm thinking she picked the total that was higher between my friend and me and pocketed the money. Not sure why else she would not give me a ticket. I also think that by the end of our time there, my Gin and Clubs were mostly Club. Won't be going...

We use to eat here quite often. I would say in years past, this place HAD the best Walleye sandwich around. The last time we went for fish fry, I got the broiled cod - I usually get the broiled option. It was the nastiest I think I have ever tried to eat. The lower quality piece of fish was entirely covered with a big pile of onions and green peppers, which seemed to have been boiled ~ why to hide the quality of the fish? What happened to the place that use to make the best sandwich in the land? Using cheaper, lower quality supplies doesnt keep customers who are your bread and butter coming back. Very bad. Wait...
