Good food, but be prepared for a noisy, claustrophobic wait. At least, for now.
Prefacing this to say I've seen plenty of restaurants open, noise and wait isn't uncommon when you're utterly swamped with people. This isn't unusual, or even "bad". It's just a thing to be aware of right now.
Ordered food for three, to go. Twelve minutes twenty seconds to the register, four minutes to order over the noise and commotion, and thirty seven minutes after order placed and paid for to receive food. Wednesday dinner rush.
As an experienced restaurant worker and occasional foodie, I'd say time was seventeen minutes over what should be expected at the busiest for the kind of fare served.
Informed upon receipt of food that part of our order was 86ed. A shame, I wanted to try the tortilla soup. Bad form to get that knowledge after the order is packaged in front of you.
Servers seen touching food with bare hands. Cooks with facial hair not wearing beard guards. General cleanliness beyond reproach, but time will tell if that's just the shiny newness of the building or care and attentiveness of the staff.
Food was well prepared, neither greasy nor dry. Hot and seemed fresh. The chorizo in particular was excellent. The cilantro lime rice was not too much cilantro, but not enough lime.
Price for portion was well within reason, fed three for eleven dollars each and respectably filled and satisfied.
Verdict: Worth the visit, but maybe try outside of rush hours.
Notes to staff: If you're seeing this, remember that you have an open window to your kitchen. It's an opportunity as much as a vulnerability. Make sure your cooks are properly attired and don't work over people's food with tongue protruding past lips. Seriously. That wasn't a show I...
Read moreItâs my first time being here and I was extremely confused. Due to it being an indoor restaurant I thought I would be seated, but you actually go up to the register at the bar and order. There was no smile or âhello welcomeâ. Itâs very important to establish customer relations at the door and I do think it is something that needs to improve here. Secondly- a lot of the staff had RBF and were bored Third- the manager, a guy in a blue button up shirt with gray and pepper hair (beautiful smile) was standing at the bar the whole time while there was an African American older couple who sat down after entering * I am guessing it was their first time being here too* and NO ONE HELPED THEM not even the employee who looks like shaggy with the earring in the right Fourth off- the bar tenders obviously do not have an experience except the one that had the SnapBack BUT even she seemed uninterested in interacting with customers
I have been a bartender and a restaurant manager, and I can most definitely tell you that you want to check on every customer and say hello with a smile and stay moving in order to increase profit in a place of business
I most definitely will not be returning here to avoid the pain of seeing the poor customer service, but I will definitely be ordering take out
Yâall itâs only 6:30 and these bartenders donât know how to use a...
Read moreTerrible experience. Ordered takeout and my husband got back with the food and they forgot my WHOLE meal. He ate without me that night and being from Texas, staying in a hotel, with nowhere else opened really after 9-10pm I had extremely limited options. I told him Iâll probably go hungry tonight, thatâs if I donât eat from a convenient store. I called the store even though they had closed since he went to pick it up and they REFUSED to give me my bowl that I already paid for and was already made. I said âyou canât just hand me my food through the door?â And the man refused and said no. I donât care if youâre closed, it was made and paid for and you simply just have to hand it over, he was obviously still in store. I truly believe they probably gave my bowl away or some part of the staff ate it. Such a terribly operated business and unprofessional. Although the man offered to give me a replacement next day and a gift card for the inconvenience, I have yet received it so I will update.
Let me also say my queso was the wateriest queso Iâve ever had in my entire life. It was FALLING off my chips and not edible and disgusting. Just completely disappointed with the quality of my experience with Fuzzyâs.
Edit: I did receive a gift card the next day that covered the meal I paid for. I appreciate the team for compensating...
