I rarely write reviews unless I am extremely pleased with a restaurant or extremely displeased. And I hate to admit that this time, it's the latter.
The food here is the worst I've had at a restaurant, probably ever. For a drink, I ordered a piña colada which was the strongest pour I've ever had. I wish the menu would have explained that it was a mixed drink and not blended, which is how I prefer mine. This drink was not only served in a very small cup, but it genuinely tasted as though it was 95% low-quality liquor (that tasted like straight rubbing alcohol) and 5% pineapple juice. I had to sip on this drink the entire meal because of how strong it was. (If you want a quick buzz without spending too much money, this is your place). I then ordered a burger that came on texas toast. I was so excited to try this; the menu made it sound delicious. When I tried it, not only was the bread soggy/barely toasted, but the caramelized onions that came on it completely ruined/overpowered the entire burger. They tasted old and downright disgusting. Even after scraping them off the burger, the flavor was still tainted since there were so many that had already soaked into the bread. My table also ordered onion rings as an appetizer and they were completely soaked in oil. I bit into one and felt like I was sipping on oil. The bottom of the basket they came in was covered in it, too. Another noteworthy mention is the fact that this place seems to only have plastic bowls and cutlery. Seemed strange for a sit down restaurant to not have actual plates/bowls/cutlery. I felt like I was eating at a fast foot restaurant with the prices of a normal sit-down restaurant. I did not finish my food, minus my fries. Those were the only good things I was fortunate enough to try. I really liked the seasoning on them.
Overall, I would not recommend eating here. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because all the staff were so incredibly kind and extremely attentive. Without them, I would give this...
Read moreI'll give this a 1 star, but only because our server was nice. Otherwise, this was the most underwhelming culinary experience I have had in a while. I should have known better when I walked in and it felt like a funeral, the vibe is dead and the music makes it even worse. Add to that the food made me feel just as depressed as the atmosphere. We ordered the fried pickles, thai chicken flatbread, and chicken tender basket. The fried pickles were decent and hot, but the breading had literally no flavor. The chicken basket came with cold fries and luke warm chicken tenders. Again, with q flavorless breading. The fry and chicken sauce that accompanied it were nothing more than rebranded thousand island dressing. Honestly, it could also have been Sysco brand mayo and ketchup mixed together. chefs kiss The pizza. ... oh my. The "crispy" onions were just raw onions thrown on at the end. Who puts raw onions on a cooked pizza? The chicken was a repurposed chicken strip on a bed of canned peanut sauce and finished off with a vinegary hot chili sauce, topped off with processed chese that was barely melted when the pizza arrived. When asked if they had an actual chef, our server told us they had not one but TWO working tonight. Partially due to being so slammed 😑 I'd like to know what online culinary school these "chefs" graduated from. These 3 items were NOT worth the $40 we paid. I could have paid less for frozen processed food cooked in my air fryer at home that tasted better. Staff were friendly and kind. Food...
Read moreFrom the moment you walk into Shindigs, you're greeted with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you're stepping into a big family reunion — the good kind, with no awkward small talk and plenty of laughter. The open space is cozy but vibrant, a place built for community.
The food? Let’s just say you’ll be dreaming about it long after the plates are cleared. The menu is a delightful blend of comfort and creativity — hearty enough to please the picky kids and flavorful enough to wow the foodies. The Texas chicken sandwich is an indulgent standout (I personally like to add a little more of their spicy aioli), and the fish tacos were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. For dessert, don't forget to try the warm mini donuts. AND, the best part of all is that they only use beef tallow which I love.
What really ties the experience together is the live music on weekends. It's the perfect blend of classics and soulful originals, setting a laid-back vibe that made us want to stay all night. It wasn’t too loud to talk over — just enough to make you smile between bites.
Whether you’re wrangling kids, catching up with old friends, or sneaking away for a date night, Shindigs hits all the right notes. Great food, great music, and a family atmosphere that’s as...
