Val's Pub And Grill — Restaurant in Havelock

This is the 2nd time going, as 1st time was a while back for Music Bingo, and we sat in the covered outside sitting area, behind the building.

My family and I went for "taco tuesday' dinner, but DO Not Go after 6pm. This is a small establishment and Tuesday is evidently dart league, so don't expect many tables to choose from as they commandeered 6 tables for themselves, and left 2 small Hightops and 1 small round table in side. Size wise, not very accommodating to customers who want to eat and enjoy a meal, when dart players are up against your table and in your space. Also, the one place in town that charges for drink refills.

On a positive note, the food was...

I worked here for a couple months as a cook before I realized it’s not worth it, Val teaches every cook differently which causes confusion and lack of consistency. She willingly left me alone in the kitchen knowing I hadn’t gotten my Food Handlers Card. The freezer in the back went out and instead of cooking the thawed food, she refroze it. Every direct deposit I received was wrong by over half, she refused to give my last check in paper form. Val expects you to come to her call at the drop of a hat even on unscheduled days and when you can’t, she’ll cut your hours. She is honestly a headache...

Had to wait over an hour for my food. Called in the order they said about 20 minutes.. 45 extra minutes later and I finally got it.. ordered the nasty fries and Buffalo chicken quesadilla.. they said he was boxing it up over a 10 minute period.. it should not take that long to box up because by the time I got my food my quesadilla was soggy not crisp like it should have been and the nasty fries.. were just that. Nasty. It says they come with bacon cheese and jalapeños. The Meat on my fries was not bacon.. tastes like cheese steak...
