Shimoda Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Havelock

I've been coming here for lunch with a work colleague for almost 6 months. It's been a very pleasant experience with excellent ramen and sushi, as well as really nice staff! They always greet people warmly and are extremely professional. If they have time and you reciprocate, they'll come by your table and chat a bit! I like the chicken miso, both normal and spicy, depending on how adventurous I'm feeling that day lol! It is a large bowl filled to the top with a tasty broth and all the usual ingredients. They also have a really unusually prepared chicken gyoza that's air fried, and it is excellent without all the heaviness that I normally feel after eating it fried the traditional way! We tried an ocean roll last week and it was also tasty. It is very quiet with mellow background music, so we like spending a quiet lunch there and getting a break from work. Went for my anniversary, because my husband loves sushi. He said it was good sushi. I don't like sushi so I got the air fried gyoza. They were okay, but they were crunchier than I expected and I didn't care for their dumpling sauce; it was too sour for me. Might be something other people would like though, because the quality was excellent. Everything was made fresh and the staff was very friendly. I wish they had a larger menu selection because my husband and son both really enjoyed the sushi. I am just a super picky eater so I can be hard to feed. Lol. The lady who made our food and served us was a delight! She was so sweet and made sure we were all happy. All the food was delicious, from the kalimari salad to the Ocean Roll sushi (which I highly recommend!). The sushi rice was clearly made fresh and was super fluffy and tasty. The shrimp tempura that was in the roll was sizeable, warm, and crunchy. My boyfriend is very particular when it comes to food in general, but especially his sushi (he refused to touch anything but California rolls until tonight).
