My cousin and I wanted to try this place because we seen a great review of it on TikTok. We went on Easter Sunday. I honestly thought it would be crowded because of the holiday but there were only like 10 people. There was a crowd at the bar but I later realized it was the staff. It took about five minutes or so for someone to come to the table and say hi. The waitress introduced herself and said “ Sorry for the wait, can I get you guys some drinks on the house?”. We agreed, she took our drink order and never returned. We were greeted again by another waiter who said he would be taking over. This guy seemed very nice but was very unorganized with taking our order. Because we had seen the great review on TikTok we wanted to try a few things. We got nachos, 2 orders of birria egg rolls, blackened shrimp tacos, crispy fish tacos, Mexican fried rice, 2 ordered of corn and a chicken burrito with tater tots from the kids menu. We ordered a lot expecting to take some of it home to share with our family. The nachos were just chips and pieces of corn and beans with a sprinkle of cheese. After eating the nachos with actual topping on it, 80% of the chips were still left….with nothing on it. Crispy fish tacos were mushy(we sent those back). Mexican fried rice was brunt throughout and load with unnecessary toppings. Birria egg rolls were dry and tasteless. The corn was sour. My 1 year old liked the meat in her burrito so that was good. The reason why I said our waiter was unorganized with taking our order is because the Mexican fried rice and corn did not come with the other food, we asked multiple times before it showed up and the second order of eggrolls, to take home, was never put in. We were ready to go after the nachos, but we wanted to give them a chance. We had two different managers come to the table to ask how we were doing and I know they could see it on my face that I was not happy with the food. We finally had enough and asked for the bill. When the bill came out, those free drinks that the first waitress gave us was on the bill, I ordered blackened shrimp tacos, but they put Birria tacos instead( which costed more ), and the mushy crispy tacos were on there. I talked to the waiter about it and he’s like “yea I talked to the kitchen and that wasn’t suppose to be on there”. If the charges shouldn’t have been on the bill, why were they? Were they trying to see if I would pay without mentioning it? Overall, our experience was awful. BTW, I think it’s pretty telling that the business only responds to reviews that are 5 stars but don’t leave comments under the bad reviews. I don’t see this business lasting if this is...
Read moreMy wife and I have tried 4 times in the last month and half to enjoy a meal here. The 1st time it was a 45 minute wait with tables open all over the place. The 2nd time we were turned away because of a private party midday on a Saturday. The 3rd time we finally made it in and had a seat at the bar around 9:00 on a Friday. It took 10 minutes for someone to finally realize we were there (at the bar) and the space we were sitting was dirty from prior patrons and they didn't once wipe it down or clear the space. We sat with the prior patrons dirty dishes next to us. The 4th time we tried they told us it was an 1:15 minute wait yet again with tables inside (and there now opened outside) unoccupied. Might I add their website and others locals have stated they don't take reservations but when I approached the hostess's for seating they said other reservations are occupying the empty tables. I am trying to spend my money at this place and they make it so difficult to do so. The one time we did make it in the food and drinks were great, so it's frustrating that they make it so difficult. We have tried and tried again to dine here and spend money but they seemed more annoyed that we are there then they are...
Read moreThere's a new Mexican eatery and it's in Havertown! Move over eateries because this restaurant has a cool vibe. The whole place had been transformed from its previous tap room into a classy hip place with a full bar.
Start with a margarita or one of their specially made cocktails using unique ingredients like hibiscus, mezcal, or Tajin.
The appetizer menu can stand alone with its options for guacamole flights or ceviche or wings. This Mexican fusion menu was really tasty. The nachos had incredible flavor with a colorful presentation.
Don't forget the tacos. There are options for vegetarians like their fried cauliflower tacos or sweet potato black bean tacos. They were very filling. The fried fish tacos were so crunchy and delicious. I could go back for those.
The night ended with the sirloin fajitas served under pepper and onions and a tasty sauce on top. There was a perfect number of sides and tortillas for the serving.
The tres leches was my favorite. It was a sturdy solid cake that had been drenched in a sweet combination of milks. I took that home to enjoy later but it was so good. Can't wait...
