This is going to be a somewhat mixed review, so I will break it into 4 pieces.
THE SETUP - Decided to go here with a companion on a recommendation. Reservations were easy to make and, after arriving a little early and waiting for a table, we were seated. This establishment is BYOB, so we asked the staff to put our wine on ice and they responded quickly and in a very friendly manner.
THE APPETIZER - We ordered the artichoke appetizer and it was very well received. The artichoke portions were very tender and they were soaked in an unbelievably delicious marinade. My only complaint was that, for $13, we only received 2 artichoke hearts. That's criminal, sorry. And there is no indication on the menu of portion size, so shame on Burrata. Also, it would have been nice to garnish the plate with some bread for dipping, because that delicious marinade went to waste and for $13, you'd think it would at least be offered.
DINNER #1, DOVER SOLE - My companion ordered this from the chef's specials offered that evening and it was amazing. It was served table side and our waiter was fantastic and showed expertise in de-boning the fillet. The sole itself was served in a lemon butter sauce and was tender and cooked to perfection. The sides were roasted potatoes, a fairly uninspired presentation as they were somewhat dry and over cooked, and some rather tasty spinach.
DINNER #2, CHICKEN PARMESAN - This is where the experience fell apart for me. I ordered a menu item which should be a no-brainer. Chicken Parm. It's a staple of italian restaurants. I was basically served a thin, breaded piece of chicken that was beginning to dry out along the edges with an even thinner coating of sauce and some barely melted cheese on top. Even more shocking was that it came out with sides of broccoli and roasted potatoes. Where was the pasta??? Shame on me for not reading the menu better but when an italian sees Chicken Parm on the menu, there's an expectation. And again, the sides were underwhelming and uninspired. The broccoli was lightly seasoned and dry and the potatoes were dry and some of mine were burnt on one side. Thumbs down. Way down.
Would I return here? Maybe. I like to give restaurants a second chance, but my goodness, for the prices we paid, you'd expect a heck of a lot more. Perhaps it was just...
Read moreWe came to Burrata with a semi-large group, seeking a fun night out with good food. Burrata exceeded our expectations. Burrata has a small menu, but options for nearly everyone. I didn't see any vegan options, however, there were many vegetarian options.
We started with the Seafood Stufato, Red & Golden Beets, and the Burrata. I was able to try the first and last items, and both were great. I highly recommend the Seafood Stufato on your first visit.
For entrees, I orderd the Paccheri with bolognese sauce. A simple dish that separates good from bad establishments. Burrata did a great job with the sauce, it was soft and smoooth and had great flavor. The noodles were good, not great. I was able to taste the Potato Gnocchi, and will probably try this on a reutrn visit. I also had a bite of the Chicken; which Burrata does well and doesn't ovelroad the plate with unnecessary pasta.
We had trouble getting an early reservation due to our party size, so we didn't have time for desert. Will definitely try this in the future.
The service is top notch. The waiters are charasmatic and socialable. The ambiance inside is good, although the inside is a little crammed. I am eager to return to try eating outside for they have great lighting at the outdoor tables.
All in all, a great experience. I would recommend this place for date nights with your signifcant other; or double dates. Large parties may feel a little crammed but can still have...
