I'm not sure what to think. I ordered 2 weeks ago and again tonight and had totally different experiences. 2 weeks ago I ordered sesame chicken (the best I've ever had anywhere, ever), crab rangoons (delicious), beef lo main (very good), scallion pancakes (very good), pork fried rice (very good), egg rolls (good), and chicken in garlic sauce (good). Tonight, I decided to try some sushi and other dishes. I ordered pork fried rice (very good), egg rolls (good), crab rangoons (very good), scallion pancakes (very good although some were slightly undercooked), orange chicken (mediocre & slightly spicy), moo shi chicken (mediocre), avocado crab salad (bad) and eel sushi (horrible). Both sushi items were extremely fishy tasting, concerning on its own (means the fish isn't fresh) but especially so with them both being cooked fish items. Eel sauce tasted great but was completely overpowered by the fishy taste. The avocado eel salad, I was expecting more along the lines of a kani salad with added avocado but it was also completely overpowered by the fishy taste. I'm not sure if there's different chefs on different nights and maybe that's why some of our food wasn't as good as expected but the sushi was definitely disappointing. I spent $70 to have it delivered, since they charged over $7 in "online ordering fees" just to get disappointing food. I will absolutely not order sushi from here again, and probably will not order from here often and most likely only for the sesame chicken. My go to for Chinese food is Ginger House in Haverhill but the first time ordering here I thought maybe that would change, but now I definitely know this is not my go to spot. They say a good tell for a great Chinese food spot is how good their sushi is, since that's usually a real money maker, but I would not get sushi here unless you want to question your health for the following 2 days. I hope they improve but eat at...
Read moreThe food here is really good! It's a casual setting where you can sit down for food or at the bar. I really appreciated eating here after a bad experience elsewhere. My love for chinese food has been restored!
I would highly recommend the sizzling platters. I tried the shrimp and scallops one, that was tasty, hot and sizzling, well cooked, has sauce, and the scallops just melt in your mouth. The prices are on point here. I spent about $50 on my own stuff because I wanted to try a bunch of items (sizzling platter, house fried rice, crab rangoon, scallion pancake, and a drink). The lunch specials are where the real savings are, in my opinion, so I'm definitely returning for lunch here asap!
Also, I had a drink, the pineapple passion, and it was a nice balanced drink, not to sweet, but very flavorful and enjoyable, and not too strong, thank god. The crab rangoon are tasty and crispy, really good flavor.
Their house fried rice is my new favorite, it's white rice, and a perfect balance of ingredients mixed in, and it's not too greasy. It's nice and moist with nice flavor to it, and again, not greasy like other places.
The scallion pancakes are pretty special, too. The ginger sauce the come with is packed with flavor. Just perfect! Also, they have bento boxes here that I can't wait to try again, I had it years ago here and it was awesome. If you haven't tried this place, it's definitely worth a try, it might end up being a...
Read moreI took my mom there for an early dinner. The food was good. The experience started off pleasant, but took a quick turn. I was pressed for time, and my mother is disabled so sitting in restaurants after a little while gets uncomfortable and tiresome for her. I politely asked the woman at the register if we could get my mom’s order in a to go box, and she responded with such a tone and loud voice that the other occupants could hear. She basically said in a harsh tone that we either take our order to go or sit and eat, and then we can ask for a to-go box. To add to insult she finishes with a smile. My mother who was across the dinning room heard it too. I went back and sat down. I understand that every restaurant has their rules which is okay, but the manner in which you communicate to people is super important.
Then, my mom wanted another lemonade. I asked that same woman for another lemonade. To which she responded, “You have to pay for the lemonade. It’s not free. You have to pay, okay.” Just found that rude and odd. My mom even said she is treating us like we are dumb. I know unless if a menu specifically says bottomless or free refills I will have to pay for anything that I order that is extra. I couldn’t even look at her the rest of the time we were there. Just a little tip, your attitude matters. You can make or break the experience someone has. It is something to be...
