KaiLoki’s Restaurant Southernmost bar in the U.S — Restaurant in Hawaii

Owners called me today after I left a poor review, after receiving my to go order last night. It didn't go well, I got yelled at by Mike and Jessica (owners) for leaving a bad review without talking to them first. First of all, I couldn't get there contact info from anyone in the restaurant. So I went online, left them a msg. So instead of trying to make things better, they both yell and say I'm 86'd. Like that bothers me. Do not go to Kai Loki's. Over priced, bad service, bad food, and no one is in charge! Just to add, they are lying! My phone was on speaker when I got a call back from them. My friend recorded the half ass attemp of conversation from them., the yelling started! Unfortunately on there end. Would of yelled back but got hung up on. Do yourselves a favor. Look at the low reviews and see how they have handled those comments!. It's always, how are they only worthy of a 1 or 2 star review. Then excuses. Worst bartender around (ask anyone in town) and even worse "bouncer" (they use that term very lightly).

We tried to support this business for a long time as we try to support all local businesses, but we cannot anymore.

Only good egg in the whole place is Victor.

*edit No relation whatsoever to anyone who assaulted security. This review is based on my experience over 2 years of visits to the restaurant. I would have rated the restaurant after multiple 1 star visits but honestly i was hoping the service would improve. It has not. I reached out personally to the owners to express concerns and offered advice on improvements first with no avail. Never had anything against the owner or honestly the bartender or security even, but my opinion stands that they are terribly rude. unprofessional, and not fit for their jobs. The general consensus of the town is the same as well. Ask around. Don't take my word for it. Please do visit and for their sake I hope they improve their staff and service. Went there for dinner on a Thursday with a part of 5.

I appreciated the staff. They were very friendly and attentive.

They had a full bar, which is great. Bar seating available. The drinks were cheap, though they didn't feel strong. Three drinks in and didn't really feel it. A friend had to ask the waiter if they were given a virgin drink (he wasn't).

The food was hit or miss.

The appetizers were good. The calamari was fried well. The spicy chicken wings were spicy and hot - good meat.

The main dishes were more miss... They had a nice menu that included local favorites such as Ono and Loco Moco. However, the vegetable medley that came with 3 of the dishes our party ordered was not bland... but very boring. I had to add additional seasoning myself.

The worst part was the fact that the rice was not cooked well. The three dishes that had rice were all undercooked.

While I would go here again if I was in this rural area, I would go for beers, which won't be surprising weak. I'd get a burger in the hope that it wouldn't...
