AMAZING! So simple because they use the freshest fish that does all the heavy lifting. You have to order the go find a picnin bench to eat at as there are no tables on premise. We drove about a mile and had the most amazing picnic lunch with an incredible view. You will need a towel or blanket but put this address in your GPS and plan on an amazing meal with a million dollar view. (Laʻie Point State Wayside, End of Naupaka Street, HI-83, Laie, HI 96762) We had the lightly grilled Ahi with Mango Salsa. For some reason I thought we had ordered a sandwich but it came out to be a grilled piece of Ahi at least 1 pound nestled on top of white rice topped with fresh made mango salsa. Please plan to share as it was a HUGE incredibly tasty piece of fish.

Inexpensive for a lot of food: First, the ordering process: you have to call in your order by phone - even if you drive up and are standing one foot away from them with a door separating you. It doesn’t need to be this complicated to get food. Ordered an Ono plate and the special poke which was marlin. The poke was simple and delicious. The lunch plate, which I ordered katsu style, was honestly disappointing. I mean, they go out and fish for these amazing ingredients and then douse them in Mayo and a cloyingly sweet sauce. You could coat an old boot in that sauce and it would taste good. The point is to let these amazing ingredients shine, not be obscured by sauce. Maybe that’s an island thing because I’ve experienced the same at upscale restaurants. And one of the two filets was over cooked and dry. Blah. But - it’s cheap! Lunch for two with tip was $25 bucks so you can’t really complain. But this is not a foodie destination. I wouldn’t come back.

I came here a few month ago and the poke was amazing. It was $9 for the spicy ahi bowl and they packed it. I was looking forward to the poke this time and drove all the way from town. I came here today and the price is $10 for a bowl and the spicy ahi portion is a lot smaller. The fish also looks less fresh. I understand and am okay with paying extra few dollars for the local shops but do not appreciate the smaller portions and the quality. One photo is the one I got today and the other one was from a few month ago

Holy hell why is this place not on the list for best places to go in Hawaii!!!!! Forget the shrimp trucks!!! Come here! After attempted to go to the Bald guy two days in a row to a fail, missed it by 7 mins and the next day they decided to Close and not open at all due to a big event the day before. But you know what I’m a firm believer of everything happens for a reason because we stumbled upon this place and this was out best meal out of the whole Entire island!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went there on my final day staying in Laie and sad I didn’t try this place sooner as I wouldn’t have eaten at many other places as this would have been my go to for fish staying in Oahu. I had the Katsu Style Fish and the fresh Sashimi. I wanted to save some for others in my group to try, but it was so good I didn’t leave much else for others to try. I would highly recommend Ken’s if you are on the north side of Oahu. Some of the best food you will find on the island.

If you pass through Laie, drop by for the best seafood and steak from this place. This place is not open everyday or all the time...so check their hours. The fish is fresh, their poke is so tasty. You can also pick up some fresh fish to take home. There are only a few benches in the place to sit down. My ahi katsu plate (large size) was $13. Included green salad with dressing and rice. The piece of fish was huge. I can't wait for my next visit to Laie.
