Let me start by saying the food was excellent!! Unfortunately, the service was bad enough that we won't go back. Small cramped dining area (picture tables in your living room), yet clean and well lit. We waited for about 30 minutes to be seated (Friday night) - which the waiting area is small and has you facing the people that are eating, which is kind of weird. We had a very small table in the front corner, close enough to the back of another table that the gal's hair kept getting in our food (not her fault, just no room). The main waiter, a tall young man, was rude and uncaring - with no manners at all. Our drinks stayed empty, and I even had to go in to the kitchen to get us plates so we could eat despite trying to get his attention for over 5 minutes. Clearly the waiter saw patrons as a nuisance that he didn't want to deal with (acted like a spoiled child who was pissed that he had to help the family business). The young girl that was bussing the tables tried to clear our table twice while we were still eating - it was really awkward. She was nice, but just an awkward situation. The dining room only has 9 or 10 tables - all cramped in together - so it was shocking how bad the service was. Again, the food was amazing - but just not worth the horrible service. We won't be back, and despite how good the food was, I wouldn't recomend it to...

Desperate for some grub, my husband and I headed into Hayden to find some sustenance. We decided to try out Little Kyoto. As you drive up you won’t find what you’re looking for, unless you’re looking for a cute house with a Little Kyoto sign off to the side.

While the outside looks residential, once you walk in, you find yourself in a cozy dining area with smooth elevator music playing in the background. (Which was nice, because our food took a minute to get to us) We were on the hunt for sushi, so we ordered the Spicy Salmon, the Tornado Roll, and the Spider Roll.

The restaurant is a mom and pop shop, which lends to a warm dining experience, but also lends itself to longer wait times for food. Our waiter was very kind and kept us topped off with water throughout the night. When our food arrived, it was decent. The fresh fish in the salmon roll was wonderful, but the tornado roll was a little cream cheese heavy. My husband and I both agreed that the flavor of the Tornado Roll was there, but it was hidden under a thick layer of dairy.

In all, a super cozy spot to munch some seafood. The sushi was good, but not amazing, and the wait time had us on our phones after the first 30 min. Expect a nice visit, just not...

Stopped here on an early Friday evening. There were 3 people at another table and that was it. We were seated and ordered a couple beers which came out right away. We were ready to order but the server never came back and was busy with to-go orders. Someone came in from Doordash I believe and was told there was a problem with the order so he said he'd come back. A few minutes later, a lady came in to pick up an order and was told there was a problem with her order and it would be another 10-15 minutes, so she went to wait in her car. Finally the server came back. I asked if everything was ok and if it would be a long wait to get our food. He said it would probably take longer than usual and explained that Friday is their busiest night and they were short-staffed so he was having to help (his dad I think) with the cooking. I appreciated the honesty and said we'll just pay you for the beers and be on our way somewhere else as we were really hungry. He apologized and comped us the beers which was nice. I'd like to try this place at some point if we're in town...

I am Japanese and miss real Japanese foods here in North Idaho. Little Kyoto makes me smile like I'm home! The family is really nice and great people. Lunch bento box is great deal 👌 Curry is good portion, teriyaki chicken is juicy, sushi is the best around here (including Spokane) because other Japanese restaurants don't know how to make real sushi rice but Little Kyoto does perfect job every time! Rice is the important for Sushi and they understand it very well.

From the outside it just looks like someone's house.🤷‍♀️ who knows maybe it is? But the 5 rolls and 🍤 tempura vegetables my husband and I had were AMAZING! Probably THE BEST we have ever had! We had The Star,(our favorite!) You could taste every layer of the roll I swear! We had the Butterfly, the Tiger and the Dynamite. (I believe that was it's name.) Their hours are weird, Weekdays: 11:30-1 and then again 5-7. No weekends. They no longer serve beer or wine.
