The Moose Lounge North — Restaurant in Hayden

Unfortunately we did not stay to eat anything. We were looking for a new brunch place on a Sunday at 10am before my husband had to be at work. We past by and seen their big banner across their parking lot, "Now serving breakfast from 9:30am-12:00". They had a parking lot full of cars, so we turned around and parked. As we entered the bar & grill, there was one server behind the bar and a gentleman working on cleaning up the instruments on the dance floor. There were approximately 7 tables full of diners, 2 empty tables by the door, and a few people sitting at the bar. The place didn't even smell like food, which any restaurant we've went to, no matter the time, has always had some sort of cooking aroma. There were no signs to wait to be seated or please find a seat, so we stood at the entrance waiting to be directed in some way. The only service person behind the bar looked up at us as she was wiping the counter, but didnt say a word to us. After a few minutes of awkward waiting we just sat at the first open table near the door. Noone brought us menus, said we will be right with you to at least acknowledge that we would be served in any way. After a few minutes of very uncomfortable waiting, my husband pointed out that although they had drinks, none of the diners had food and everyone just seemed to be waiting. We have NEVER got up from a table once we have sat down, no matter the wait time, but we weren't sure they even had a food waitress or kitchen staff to serve breakfast despite what the big banner said outside. We finally decided to get up and go find...

We went there just after 5pm, happy hour is advertised 4-6pm. Took forever for a waitress , got our drinks, eventually got food which was mediocre at best. Went to pay the bill and 1st their till had not changed to daylight savings, so it did not have the happy hour discount. When my husband pointed this out, there was a very much * I dont care* attitude from the server, by her saying , " well its 6:19 now and happy hour ends at 6. Everything we ordered was before 6pm. Note to staff , the $6 discount for the happy hour should have been refunded, but more than that a little courtesy goes...

This place is great for a burger and a beer. Not sure what the bad ratings are about. It's a bar. There are pool tables. There is beer. The beer is cold. The burger came out hot and the server was nice. If you want fine dining and immediate service without delay in a busy place on a Friday, go somewhere else.

Four stars because I reserve five stars for perfect places with perfect everything and no bar can achieve that unless its got some special thing going on.
